Good parking lot to park near Crater. Bathrooms were okay, some loud generators in the parking lot, but if you go to the right and downhill, there are more traditional feeling parking spots. Somewhat useable Verizon, would stay again.

Snowpacks with a few camp sites. No picnic tables, no fire pits, no bear boxes. 20 mins to Crater Lake Park. Roads can be rough for big rigs. Really nice Creek running through. Saw big rigs at the pavement when you first enter. Out houses no showers.

we stayed here in September of 2018. the first night we arrived, we stayed up on the parking lot above, and then stayed another couple nights down below by the stream! the road was fine getting our 32 ft class c up and down.
the air quality was a bit smokey from the fires near by at the time, but the area was gorgeous nonetheless. other than a group of hunters who would go by on their gators, we were alone. gorgeous secluded spot by the stream. we didn’t get any cell service at the lower parks with close to crater lake!

Good place to stay near Crater Lake. There is plenty of room to turn around. Sign says you need a permit but we were unable to find a place to receive a permit. We used a cell booster and had LTE on Verizon.

Great spot for car/van camping. Easy to get to. Has toilets and a warming hut with fireplace. You do need a sno-park permit Nov 1-April 30 (after that it’s free!) They’re cheap and easy to get: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/Pages/Vehicle/sno_park_permits.aspx. We ended up paying $9 for a 3 day pass.

This is a large asphalt parking lot that is used in winter for snowmobiles. You must have a permit Nov-April but free off season. There are 2 fire pits and a log cabin with picnic tables. There are 2 pit toilets, no trash cans so pack it out. There is a dirt road going deeper in the forest and we considered going down there to camp. It’s right by Annie Creek. Our 40 ft DP could access in & out but we would have taken up the large area that could otherwise accommodate 4-5 tents or smaller RVs/vans. So we stayed up on the parking lot. Most nights there were 3-4 RVs in the lot. We were about 10 mi from entrance to Crater Lake NP. Great location, perfect price, beautiful forest all around and perfectly quiet at night.

Awesome place close to crater lake south entrance. We parked in the upper paved parking lot. 2 pit toilets which were very clean at the time, parking lot was also very clean (please keep it that way). Noticed power outlets In the warming shelter, not sure if they were functional though. Had dinner at Kla Mo Ya Casino about 20 miles south (which also accommodates RVs).

We arrived on a Friday and upon investigating the dirt path (on the right) that goes down toward to creek, we decided to park on the concrete slab. There were spots down by the creek and It would have been doable, but the hill down had a bit of water erosion ruts that would not have been good for our house. We parked on the concrete near a fire pit/grill and closest to the trees. Where we parked we had great sun from 10:00am till about 5:00 due to the trees. The days there were quiet, but MANY campers showed up late, some showing up past midnight and immediately starting generators and or bonfires. A few nights there we were woken up in the middle of the night by people parking within ten feet of our home. I guess you’ll have that at a free lot. Bathrooms were cleanish and the snow mobile shelter had a few electrical outlets. We explored the trails and fire roads for walking the dogs and the crowning jewel of this place is the proximity to Crater Lake. We found out the hard way the nearest diesel fill up to this spot is the at the casino we passed on the way there 17 miles away. Freshwater fill up is in Crater Lake at the campground on the right directly after entering the park.
