We arrived shortly before the 2:00 check-in time, yet there was no problem heading straight to our site. (Checkout is at 1:00 pm). The camp host was very friendly and helpful directing us to the water station and our site. The water station was easy to enter, exit, and use. We were in Loop A (the RV loop), and the sites are mostly very spacious and private. Lots of trees and shade. The roads are very easy to navigate at ten mph. Site 30 and 32 are a bit close with not a lot of trees and shrubbery in between, but if you're looking for sites for you and a camping buddy, these two would work great. We weren't on top of each other, though. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Some have charcoal grills, but ours did not. It would have been nice to have a grill as the fire ring grill was too high to cook with charcoal, but we managed just fine without it. Our site was paved and level for the trailer and truck to rest, and the picnic table is portable if you don't want it on the asphalt. The previous campers did a good job cleaning up the site, which I always appreciate. You can sometimes hear the cars and trucks on the road, but it's not obnoxiously loud. Firewood is $7 a bundle, and it was dry even after lots of rain and burned great. Electric worked fine. Several vault toilets (separate for men and women) are spread out around the campground, and they were very clean, well-stocked with paper, and not that stinky. There are also flush toilets and showers near the entrance that are open from 8 am to 8 pm. The showers are free and in great shape. Hand/hair dryers were a nice touch; they weren't too powerful but they did the job in time. Bring your own soap. The dump station was as pleasant as it can ever be. All in all, it's a nice campground in Rim Country. The views along 260 are beautiful. It's 35 miles east of Payson, so it's about an hour away from Tonto Natural Bridge SP. That was a nice outing with the kids one day. You can also hike to a cool sinkhole from the campground (2 miles round-trip). Willow Springs Lake is just a few miles down the road, and there are lots of places to fish lakeside. We enjoyed our stay there.

We wanted to get out of the heat for a quick weekend trip and were able to find a last minute reservation at this very popular campground. Our only complaint is that the site we booked was listed as a back in site, when in reality, it is a pull through site on a side loop. We marked our campground map for future reference when booking a site here at Canyon Point.

This campground is very heavily used and almost always booked during the summer as it is located on the Mogollon Rim (a short drive from the Phoenix area) at an elevation of 7500 ft in a heavily wooded area. There is lake access nearby, as well as hiking/biking trails and endless miles of dirt roads to explore. There are some nice side loops that would be ideal if you're planning a weekend with friends.

We spent Friday night traveling between Santa Fe and Phoenix. Fee above is with Senior Pass and includes $10 reservation fee. Good location along Mogollon Rim. Very busy campground. Friendly & helpful staff. Basic facilities. Little privacy between sites.

Love this campground! I have always wanted to stay there but its always full when I try to book or drive in... This time when we showed up with the RV there was room! We didn't get a site with power. But the site was large, plenty of distance between us and the next rig and even better the site was level! Super quiet, super clean... Just a beautiful campground. Tons of amenities... 2 RV Dump stations, water, showers, bathroom facilities, and some sites have power...

The site was great! We knew we would get there after normal hours and called to confirm we were ok to arrive late. It was not a problem, there was not a gait, and we checked in the next morning. The site was beautiful and tucked into the pines. The hosts went above and beyond. Bathroom and showers were clean. Firewood was readily available. The location was great.

Off a busy state highway. Turn off comes up quickly. Very popular area for Phoenix folks so book early or use their first come first serve area.

Campground is separated into two loops. Loop A has electric but is closer to highway so some residual traffic noise. Loop B deeper into the woods, a dry loop, less traffic noise. Loop B seemed more spacious. All sights have some shade from high pines and some ability to get a solar panel into some sun. Lots of dry wood (allowed to pick up dead fall) and pine cones for making fire ring campfire. Bundled wood for sale at front.

Very clean pit toilets scattered throughout loops. Potable water pump near each restroom. Very clean, spacious, hot water showers near entrance of campground. Loop B is big so it's a walk to the showers. Great time for a bike.

2 easy hiking trails right from campground. Multiple forest roads and lakes nearby for sightseeing.

General stores with all the basics within a couple of miles. The stores close early. Nearest gas about 20 minutes away. Cell phone service good outside our trailer. Very dark at night (nice) and quiet at night except for the coyotes. Staff very attentive and come past several times a day but do not bother.

Stayed during Covid so showers by daily pass only and no visitors allowed to campground which were not a problem.

This campground is really big and has tons of spots. The campsites are pretty close though so don't expect any privacy. Loop A has electric hookups (30amp) but not sewer or water hookups at the campsite. The campground has water spigots throughout the campground so you can fill up fresh water there. The campground also has a main dump station, where you can get rid of your grey/black water.

The Verizon cell reception was great here so if you need to be connected this is a good campground.

This is an NPS campground managed by Thousand Trails. There are 2 Loops. Loop A is the smaller one that has electric hookups in most sites. Loop B is larger but has no hookups. Loop A is closer to the main road so you can hear some road noise, although it was barely noticeable to me. Near the entrance there is a dump station that is free for registered campers or $7 for visitors. Near the entry there is also a large bath house with flush toilets and private shower rooms. Most of the sites are well spaced apart providing for privacy. There are a few pull through sites, but most are back-in sites in a variety of lengths to accommodate almost any size rigs. I saw several large class A rigs there. In addition to the flush toilets near the entrance, there are also pit toilets spaced throughout the campground. All facilities were very clean and well maintained and the multiple camp hosts circulated frequently. The campground is easily accessed off of the 260 with paved roads and paved, level sites. I did not see much wildlife here, just squirrels, chipmunks and a variety of birds. I had no cell service here with Visible. The price was $30 per day plus an additional $7 per day for electric. With a senior pass it was $22 per day ($15 off per day)

Stayed In Site 98 non-electric. Site was nice and level But, the campground allows generators to run 16hours from 6AM until 10PM. We had the misfortune of having neighbors who ran the generator all day. The generator was a commercial variant capable of 9800watts, no economy mode so very loud We have a generator and generally will run it for an hour every other day to recharge battery or to use the microwave.
