“Ideal for tent campers”
Lakeview Campground is located near Upper Lake Mary with easy foot access to the water, via the Wood Memorial Trail (0.5 miles) or by car. Many other lakes such as Ashurst, Kinnikinick, Marshall and Lower Lake Mary are within easy driving distance as are many hiking trails, including the Arizona Trail. The lakes are stocked with a variety of fish including trout, bass and channel catfish. Upper Lake Mary is also popular with power boaters and there is currently no motor size limit (most other lakes in the area have an 10 hp motor size limit). Lakeview Campground is a tent camper’s paradise with its terraced, hillside camp sites creatively tucked in amongst an open old growth stand of Ponderosa Pine. With all the easy forest and lake access, this is a also great place for wildlife watchers. Many visitors report seeing bald eagle, osprey, migratory waterfowl, great blue heron, elk and mule deer.

This is a quick video tour of a perfect little campground I found. It has 30 sites. Each has picnic table, fire ring, flat spots for tents. Some sites will accommodate big RVs. Some are tent only but most will hold a smaller RV. The campground host couple were two of the nicest people we have ever met working as hosts. We were treated as royalty. They were quick to point out any of the campground rules so that we would not be breaking any. Simple rules, of course. June of 2018, fire restrictions are in place which was the biggest concern. Otherwise, a very reasonable price and expectations. The cost for one night was $22 which included truck and trailer. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful area - campground is very clean with sites nicely spaced out. Many sites with great shade. Easy walking path right to a secluded area of lake shoreline. Amazing camp hosts who gave great advice and were really friendly. Ice and firewood available for purchase.

What a great place. Camp hosts are very friendly. Site has bathrooms and trash close. The path to the lake goes thru a tunnel under the highway! Comes out right at the lake. Very quiet and very clean. We will go back for sure.

We planned to stay 2 nuggets but there was only 2 sites left when we checked in at 10a'm. The sites left were both by the vaulted bathrooms so we picked the slightly bigger site, however, most of the sites are BI & TRI Level and that gets old fast. Up and down, up and down. The worst was in the middle of the night, the "Out house" started stinking up orour site so bad that we broke camp at 5a'm. & left. However, on the up side, the Camp Hosts are great here! Very friendly and helpful. AND camp is very close to Lake Mary, beautiful. Pets are welcome

This was an incredible location . Very clean !! but on the night I camped , the middle camp campsite had a double up party . They were going till 11:30 and very disruptive .
I will return and pray that the quiet hours are observed .

The camp hosts work hard to keep the place clean. Sites are well spaced and feel remote. Town is nearby for supplies, but there is very little road noise. Tents, pop ups, small van campers will always find a space. Large rigs are harder to accommodate but possible. We camped here twice pulling a 25' Airstream and were fine. Sites are paved but not all are level. Good value, convenient to Flagstaff, Walnut Canyon, Lake Mary and more.

Came up on Memorial Day as all the other campers left, maybe only 4 others sites in use (though many said reserved the days we were there). Had a nice 1/2 mile bike down to the ‘lake’ (very low water) where the kids could dig and skip rocks. Site was quiet, obviously, with a little bit of road noise. Enjoyed watching the osprey nest near our site, where we could see the adults and hear the chicks.
One warning for late May - beware of chiggers. Bug spray and long socks will save your lower legs. Those itchy bites are terrible.

Aug 9-11, 2023: $15 with senior pass. Friendly & helpful staff, pit toilets were clean but very stinky which drew some flies (perhaps some blue liquid deodorizer would help?), gravel roads, nice trees, nice access to Flag, decent (ATT) cell, mostly tent sites with a few RV/trailer sites. Nice Osprey nest behind site 11. No dump station. There were a few drinking water stations (not for RV filling).
