Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on April 07, 2023We loved this place. A little challenge at 1st finding. Don’t enter Cypress Creek into Google Maps that will take you to main entrance and not camping spot. Trust coordinates here. There are 2 spots with one labeled as equestrian. We stayed in the non-equestrian spot which is smaller. The equestrian spot had several big rigs with not a horse in site.
I would not recommend using the port-a-johns or counting on a picnic table or fire ring. We lucked out and got a great spot with excellent solar, picnic table & fire ring.
Reservations get you in but don’t guarantee a specific spot. That is 1st come 1st serve. A ranger did come by & ask to see our permit.

Our reservation was just cancelled and they said the camp is closed due to flooding that we should call to find out when it's open.

First off try to enter the park during the day. When entering at night the campground gets a bit confusing. We came in at night and weren't sure if we were in a spot or not. There seems to be 6 spots 2 on the direct right when you enter the campground and 2 on the opposite end. It may be hard to get a bigger rig or trailer to the other side due to low trees. The there are 2 directly in front of you when you enter. The road to get in to the campground is almost 2 miles so stay the course. Its basic but it feels safe and secluded. Also you must register online before entering. After that they will give you the code to the lock at the gate. Like I said try to enter during the day. They also have firepits and picnic tables. Enjoy

We enjoyed the quiet beauty all around us. We pulled in and had to clean our site and the one next to us due to previous people leaving trash. Once we had it cleaned it was beautiful again, I hate to clean up after slobs but if we don’t then these free places will soon close. We will definitely return.

This is another park that you need to have a reservation in order to get the gate code for access. There are two campgrounds. When you come to the fork, the one to the left has about 5 sites that are all very shady. The one to the right has about 3 sites but have nice sunny areas. Neither has any water or trash cans. The main trail is well marked for hiking but many of the others are not so well marked.

This is an absolutely gorgous old florida scenery free camping area. This primative site has a total if three spots. The equestrian site located further down has a total of 5 spots. The equestrian site had large 5th wheels and Class A's camping overnight. Th he dirt road in from the gate was easily managable. The sites were clean. There was only onne other rv here at this site when we arrived.

Peace and nature only. A few resters from the hiking trails. I loved the uninterupted calm. Never ventured away.

We had a great exprience at Cypress Creek. There are two camprounds (Primitive and Equestrian) be sure that you are reserving the one you want to stay in. The Primitive side has 3 sites (no numbered) that will typically get good sun for solar but we would not suggest you stay in that area with a "big rig" there are some clearance issues getting back to that area if you are over about 10ft. The equestrian side is much more big rig friendly but most sights have large trees so solar will be limited.
The gate was locked throughout our stay and was a nice piece of added security. The park gets a fair number of walkers and bikers enjoying the wildlife preserve during the day but everyon is very respectful. We also did a full campground review video on our Youtube Channel and will link it on this page as well.

Great free camping spot. We have a 25 ft class C & stayed in the primitive section. Low hanging branches but we did have enough room to maneuver. The primitive area is about 30 yds to the right of the fork. A word of warning! Do not go beyond it! The road is rather narrow, lots of tree branches & it dead-ends at an unopenable gate...Yikes.. Luckily we we able to turn around. We missed the small sign just beyond the entrance to the primitive spots that said "NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES BEYOND THIS POINT"
The equestrian area is much larger & suitable for big rigs. Very nice! We saw only one other camper while we were there. Very peaceful!

We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we would have stayed longer. We loved the peace and solitude. It is a convenient location close to town. We loved that it has a locking gate at the front of the campground. To come here you just need to go online and book a free reservation. There are two sides: primitive and equestrian. We stayed at the equestrian side. A few spots would accommodate for a big rig, but there is landscaping you will have to maneuver around. Definitely would come back here. No hook ups, one porta potty, and one picnic table pavilion. Each campsite had a picnic table and a fire pit.
