Sites are a bit close together and oddly shaped. However, the views are awesome! Definitely worth it to get a water view site. Wished it had sewer hookups but they do have a dump station on-site. We would come back if in the area again.

This area seems to have been spared the hurricane damage seen elsewhere in this area. The nearby state park no longer has camping as the storm created a breach cutting off the campground. The sites are oddly shaped & not in a neat row - but that’s due to them preserving the mature trees here. Sites are placed between palms & oaks and it seems natural. No sewer hookups but there is a pump out service so you don’t have to move. There seems to be some who stay the season. They also have cabins to rent and a tent area. Laundry & bathrooms are a bit worn but kept very clean. There is a boat ramp right next to the campground & it’s easy to launch & keep a kayak or canoe in the campground.

We found this spot last minute and couldn’t be any more happy with the bang for the bucks. Sites were unlevel but they are located right near the water. Friendly staff and check in and decent bath house with several showers and toilets.

Just got here after hours but had talked with a lady who was so nice and helpful. We are not on the water but can see Appalachicola Bay which is beautiful. Our paperwork was ready in a slot next to the door at the registration office. No problem. Some of the sites are tight but are angled where one feels private. I checked around. Bathhouse is a little old but clean. A lot of nice places to walk the dog. I hope we can stay a little longer. The campground is full.

I read the previous reviews and was reluctant to book this campground, but since I was enjoying my time on the St. Joe Penninsula and the State Park CG was full, I took a chance. I arrived late and never got to interact with CG staff, but they left my registration info by the office doorway.
The sites are close together and the campground as a whole is cluttered and not at all attractive. It looks like a fish camp and appears to have a number of longer term campers who have surrounded their campsites with a LOT of stuff. The bathroom/shower house is an old trailer building and is not in the greatest repair, but toilets and sinks do function well enough.
The place is not very welcoming and the signage and camper information materials make a lot of demands on visitors to not to do certain things, ....or else. One example is the sign in the bathroom that says "Please do not waste our paper towels by using them as floor mats for the shower". Seriously? The floors aren't that clean and for a nightly rate of close to $60, I should be able to use a couple of paper towels to keep my wet feet off the dirty floor without being made to feel bad about it.
The location is nice and this could be a lovely campground if investments were made in cleaning up and landscaping a little, upgrading the washrooms, and presenting a friendlier vibe. One can do the math and see that this has to be a reasonably profitable business, so why not put some of that back into the guest experience?

First, we chose this campground based on the reviews. We arrived to the area an hour before check in time so we called about checking in early and we’re told there was a $10 fee. Okay, no problem. We arrived to find our site , next to one of the cabins and backing up to the public boat launch. I’m posting pictures of our “view” . This may have been a decent place at one time, but times have changed. The lack of maintenance was astounding. Bath house had simple maintenance problems. Lights out ( love showering in the dark) shower not functioning, entry ramp with rotting wood. Damage done by campers not cleaned up. Cigarette butts, beer cans, broken furniture, weeds, nonfunctional electric hook ups. We stayed a couple days because of course there would be no refund, left early. Gave 1 star for hot water in shower.
