“fun on the water!”
Dash Point State Park is situated on Puget Sound in Western Washington and is a popular destination for water recreation. This 398-acre camping park features 3,301 feet of saltwater shoreline. The beach provides unobstructed views of the Puget Sound and opportunities for sea-life study. The sandy beach at the park is a relaxing beach getaway near the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Federal Way. Visitors may explore 11 miles of hiking and biking trails offered at the park, fly a kite, bird watch or enjoy swimming, fishing or skimboarding and sailboarding. Small, hand-launched boats, such as canoes and kayaks, are allowed.
What a great state park. The campground is bisected by state highway 509. One hookup camping loop for RVs with additional unserviced camp loops that are for small RVs and tent campers. There are also reservable cabins. Restrooms are clean and well maintained. Showers are coin-op, typical for Washington State Parks. Many established trails throughout the park. One trail originating on the RV campground loop follows a creek down to the beach and day use area on the other side of the highway. Beach area is extensive, but very popular, especially with locals and day users. RVs larger than 35ft might find the campsites a bit tight. Campsites are nicely secluded from each other. Most campsites are surrounded on 3 sides with vegetation and have plenty of tree cover. Sites very in size, but are generally large. The requisite fire pit and picnic table is included. Dump station with potable water on site.
Beautiful, clean and surprisingly quiet campground in the middle of the city. Get the occasional plane noise as its in the flight path, but not to bad.
