“Group Camp near Big Bear Lake”
Grays Peak Trail is a 7 mile out and back trail located near Fawnskin, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for camping & hiking and is accessible from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
There is one group campsite for tents and RVs up to 16 feet (no hookups) that can accommodate up to 40 people. Picnic tables and fire grills are provided. Vault toilets are available. No drinking water is available. Leashed pets are permitted.
One of my favorite trails in Big Bear! This is an easy to use trail - has a parking lot and vault toilets. You can park on the side of the road if you don't have an adventure pass. The trail goes up about 3.5 miles to Grays Peak where you have great views of Big Bear Lake and the town. The trail is not very technical at all. Although it climbs steadily, it's a moderate climb. Very scenic and fun! Beware of the weekend - this trail gets crowded with both hikers and mountain bikers. On weekdays you can have it to yourself.
