Stayed the night of March 24. Large snow banks at sides of parking lot, but we parked in the middle of a lot away from the entrance. Take the truckers entrance and you will have no problem getting in. Right off I29.
We tried the WalMart/Sams Club on 13th Ave South and did not get a good vibe...lots of homeless, panhandling, and small parking lots. We moved to the 55th Ave WalMart...This is a large parking lot on the south side of Fargo in a new development. Easy big rig access off of I-29. We parked on the south side of the store near the lawn and garden department along with several other RV's. The space is used by semis and RV's alike. The store closed at 8:30pm due to COVID so it was a very peaceful nights sleep.
The other Walmart across town did not allow overnight parking so we called ahead to make sure this location did. They told us no problem as long as we didn't stay too long. We kinda laughed because we only intended to stay 1 night.
The next day was windy (40mph+) so we stayed an extra night. Both nights we had at least 7-10 other RVs staying nearby, several semi trailers in the back lot, and at least 10 cars with people sleeping in their cars. It was a busy lot!
Quiet except for one car that kept turning on a loud engine and idling (probably to stay warm?) and the trucking route for deliveries and the semis staying overnight passes right by so we woke up a couple times in the early morning hours.
Newer Walmart store and there's quite a bit of new construction happening nearby. So it's a nicer area.
Nice Walmart. Panda Express and Starbucks in walking distance. A great overnight stay!
It was on the outskirts of town so there wasn't a lot of traffic. Where I parked in the back corner you wouldn't even know I was there. 2 other rv's were there at the same time and we were perfectly spread out. It's only 15 minutes from downtown Fargo and other shopping.
We were passing through on 10 to 94 and originally stopped at Walmart in Dilworth and No Overnight Parking was clearly marked. So we ended up at this Walmart. For our mid-week stay this ended up being one of the best night's rest we've had at a Walmart. If you're a late riser it won't be great. We parked on the lawn and garden side near new construction across the street. We didn't have any truck deliveries at night, but it started up around 6a and construction noise was not long after.
Felt safe and quiet, 4 other RVs on the lawn and South end of the property
Good overnight spot with food places around. Lots of room. 5 other rigs parked as well. No semis idling their engines all night.
Great spot for one night, no problems
Off the freeway quiet easy access store doesn’t open till 8am overnight parking allowed
