“Have a beer in the bank”
Imagine you are sitting in what is the first brick building built in Eugene, Oregon. The Bar and Kitchen of the First National Taphouse is actually nestled in one of the old bank vaults. Speciality beer (28 taps) from breweries all over the Northwest round out the tap and fine wine from the region pours freely as visitors talk about everything from local politics to the latest happenings. Hidden behind a series of old vaults and a foot of concrete, Eugene city history is finding it's way to the public square once again. The vaults are remnants from the old First National Bank Building in the heart of Eugene. Steve Master and Tim Weiskind bought the historic landmark with the idea of restoring some of the past, creating a place for the future and bringing to the center of Eugene a public house where people can meet, drink a local beverage, have something to eat and take in a movie.
