She recreated in her short stories and novels the ups and downs of small town living in hopes that her readers would understand the hardships and struggles of the times, but also see the virtues and hopes that became a part of these prairie times in the Midwest. Visit the home where one of Nebraska’s best-loved and best-selling authors lived, worked, and raised a family. Hours for Guided Tours: May-October: Weds., Thurs., Sat. & Sun. 2:00-5:00 p.m. November-April: Sat. & Sun. 2:00-5:00 p.m. Group tours available at other times by appointment.
