The RV Hall of Fame and Museum allows for free overnight RV parking if you visited the museum or plan to the next day. It's a large parking lot with some lights. It seems to be far from other things (not a lot of other buildings around), but it is close to the freeway so you'll hear some noise. Overall it was a nice uneventful stay with grassy areas to walk the dog. There were a couple other RVs also parked nearby. We parked as far from the highway as we could, but we may have trickled over into the event center side of the museum (no one complained). I highly recommend touring the museum which is $10 per person. Vintage trailers, campers, RV galore! Suitable for big rigs.
Very nice collection of RV`s, Free parking overnight and great country roads around for bicycle trips. Thank you Hall of Fame.
They allow one night to stay. Usually with admission to the museum, but right now with the pandemic they are allowing you to stay. Perfect for a quick stop over on our drive to get home during the craziness!!
Stayed 5/10/17. The hall of fame allows you to stay in their parking lot for two nights when you purchase an admission ticket. When we stayed admission was $10/ person. It was convenient to stay overnight and then check out the museum in the morning. We would stay here again. The museum admission price was reasonable and it was a very entertaining diversion.
Big parking lot, lots of space. We pulled in late and Boondocked for a night. Lots of I80 noise but it’s not so bad that you can’t sleep.
Stayed here on our way to and from our vacation. Great flat parking lot and plenty of other rigs. Many came in late and just found a spot for the night. No issues, big lawns and walking trail for pets (be sure to clean up after them). Some I80 noise but nothing detrimental to our sleep.
Stayed one night. It was easy to get to from the highway and there was a lot of space. Thank you RV Hall of Fame!
Museum entrance is now $15. We stayed thru Harvest Hosts but not required. There is a dump station in the big parking lot South of the event center building that is separate and east of the museum. The power hookups are in this same lot. HH visitors are instructed to park West of the museum building so unless you walked over here, you wouldn’t know about the power or the dump.
The museum is nice, featuring some really beautiful and unique RVs from the past. We originally planned to boondock, as part of Harvest Host program, in the parking lot, but with an encroaching heatwave, we learned they had electric hookups so I inquired about that. It's $40 for 30 amp plus access to water and their dump station. Registration was relatively easy but there was some confusion about where to park us. Another staff member corrected the issue, but it did end up taking a little longer to set up for the night. I made the mistake thinking that parking in the lot nearest the freeway would be ok, as we're insulated pretty well, but the semi-trucks using their engine brakes made us feel like planes were flying above us! Despite that, it was a good overnight stay and we enjoyed a sunset thru the windows as well as the view of a building's lights across the freeway. It looked like rows of little string lights, but I think it maybe was a parking garage or building under construction. Anyway, that was kind of pretty. The services were good, and it's a clean lot. If you stay, you might want to park further away from the freeway. And, tour the museum as well. They have some real gems!
If you are not a heavy sleeper, I don't recommend coming here. Either that or invest in a decent pair of earplugs. I don't think I slept a wink the whole 5 days we were here.
That being said, it's a nice parking lot with fields all around. My kids played soccer on their field, and we also really enjoyed the museum. Dump station is free to use. NO potable water ANYWHERE that anyone knew of.
