Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on March 16, 2024Two things led to me ending up at Indian Flats: 1) I decided to come to Yosemite last minute, with no reservations and, 2) I had the dates for the winter campgrounds confused....Enter Indian Flats.
I was here in late October, early November. Some nights, the park was full. Other nights, I was the only camper. The staff was very nice and helpful. When you camp here, you get access to the pools at the adjacent hotel, which is a nice bonus. It takes just under 30 mins to drive to Yosemite Valley from this campsite but I didn't consider that to be too bad and it's a gorgeous drive.
The downsides of this park are that the sites are very small. The smallest I've seen, in fact. The amenities (showers, etc) are very dated. And there is no cell service. None.
All in all, I was happy with my stay here.

I try To call them hondurd times but they never answer. When we get there at the office the phone was ringing all the time and he doesn’t answer it. The campsite was oke but really Small. In 6 of the toilets there was no toilet paper and the showers where not great. An bit old. I rate this with 3 stars because it is close to Yosemite and you can use a good swimming pool witch is nice. But be sure you sleep in Yosemite National Park, that’s much better. We only stayed here 1 day before we went to Yosemite.

I booked this campsite after an unsuccessful attempt to secure a site in Yosemite. It is the closest private campground to Yosemite Valley - 4 miles from the park entrance and 35-40 min drive into the Valley.
The sites are pretty tight but the manager was very accommodating and comped is a second site which turned our site from cramped to a decent pull through since we were staying 4 nights and he had the room. All sites are dirt and the level varies. Ours was fairly level with 30amp electric, water and sewer hookups. Our site was well shaded but many were in full sun. It was pretty dusty but that was true of the whole area this time of year (late June).
There was no service for ATT and paid WiFi was available but we didn’t use it. There is free access to the hotel pool next door (didn’t use). Also there is a fantastic sandy beach along the Merced River with a great swimming hole which beat the heat in the evenings during our visit.

I have zero tolerance for rude people but everything happens for a reason right? We stayed overnight at this campground that we were so thankful to reserve and after waking up, noticed on our invoice that the campground was trying to overcharge us on something so we went to the office to inquire. Children over 6 are considered ‘adults’ here so there was an extra $7.00 per kid per night added. There also was a $5.00 per dog per day fee. Ok, pricey but no problem. (They were trying to charge us for 4 kids when we only have 2). The guy in the office was probably one of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with. So rude, in fact, that we ended up leaving not knowing if we could find another spot. His answer to anything we asked him was honestly, ‘I don’t care!’ Hahaha! Over and over, ‘I don’t care!’ I about shit!
The sites are super tiny...and the dump station wasn’t functional. Everything else was fine. It was clean and close to the park but rude people will always make me say no way!
We ended up in Mariposa at the fairgrounds. It’s $21 cheaper for us and we have super fast and free internet. I’ll settle for the extra 30 min drive for great staff and internet.

One of the few locations with availability during summer 2018.
Site 101 was a tight squeeze, even for my relatively small setup (21ft trailer).
The view from our campsite was nice, but quite cramped.
There wasn't really any food to buy on site, but there was a store not far up the road.
The dump station wasn't operational when we were there, which for some people was very annoying. Fortunately we left when many full hook-up sites were open, so just used an available pull through site.
The best thing about this campsite was the nearby river. There is river access opposite the Yosemite Cedar Lodge, a short walk from the campsite.

We emailed to ask about availability, and someone responded and said to call. We did, left a voicemail, and the voicemail was returned while was unavailable. They didn’t have all the dates we wanted but they suggested we book the nights they had and wait for a cancellation. I called back ready to give my credit card number - no response. So I left another voicemail. We played phone tag, and when I finally got a person, they only had one night with partial hookups. I offered feedback - it’s one thing to not have an online reservation system, but at least answer the phone. I can’t imagine they’re that busy that they can’t ever answer the phone. Look at other reviews - one says the same thing. This place didn’t look that great anyway. Being close to an entrance of Yosemite will only get you so far.

Very accommodating staff, extremely convenient location with well equipped facilities. We received a prompt - no hassle refund for our second night’s stay when we decided to leave a day early. Would stay again!

Small uneven sites. I booked a site with full hookups. Told them exactly my camper size and that I had slide outs. No way I could fit on the site they had me booked for. Had to move me twice. Nice guys they tried. While hooking up the water spigot broke/glue failed. They fixed it right away. It is what it is. Close to Yosemite and a place to sleep.

We picked this CG because of its proximity to Arch Rock entrance only 6 miles! Saved us a lot of gas and $$$, diesel at $6.29/gallon😱
Stayed 14 nights and the owner let us move the last night to use full hookup site to dump, no extra charge.
Another good things was full access to Cedar Lodge next door to use pool and hot tub.

The major advantage to this park is being the closest place to camp outside of the Arch Rock entrance to Yosemite if you need hookups. It’s about a 30 minute drive to get inside the park and to the valley, assuming no traffic. If your objective is a place to sleep and then spend all day in the park, this will work for you. The office staff were very helpful and we had no issues during our stay. There are additional benefits from being a joint property with the hotel next door, but we did not utilize them.
With that said, we have never camped anywhere that was this cramped. RV’s can’t open awnings more than two feet without literally hitting another rig. This is a very small park, turning radius is very tight. With a 27’ rig, there was nowhere to park our truck, but there was additional parking available on the highway. There are also lots of very small tent sites and cabin rentals, so there are a lot of people in a small area. It’s very loud starting early in the morning.
We have three cell carrier options and none worked anywhere in the river canyon where the park is located, so do not count on having any cell service whatsoever.
