Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 30, 2023We stayed in tent in Summer 2015. There are quieter sites, but from ours, you could see (and HEAR) I-5. The access from the freeway made the commute easy, but not quite relaxing once there.
Sites and bathrooms well-maintained and clean. Easy hiking trails and boat access. The beach is on the small side, but very well maintained. Playground, grass for kids to play.
We would go again, for a quick getaway, but probably look for quieter parks first.

Late October so running short on options. This one has the critical advantage of being open .... and on a Tuesday night we are the only ones here.
Very close to the I90 so traffic noise, but inside the RV with the windows closed we don't really notice it. We do hear the trains on the other side of the lake when they go through. Summer would be noisier with windows open.
Rates are $30 for a few noisy sites close to the I90, $35 for many others and $40 for ones with the best view. Having full choices we picked a mid range one next to a popular one.
Very pleasant, great playground for kids, a defined swimming area with floats around it and a stunningly beautiful lake.
Now that we are close to our eventual destination (Seattle, it's been a long fast trip) we could easily spend another night here. But it's raining, trail walking is out so we'll move on.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Easton State Park. Upon arrival you are greeted with very friendly parks department people. They do sell propane, ice and wood if needed. The campsites are some the nicest I have seen! They are very clean and have freshly raked sand tent pads in the full hook-up section and the all the campsites are freshly paved. We were vey happy with our campsite #23. There was a small hill next to our site which acted as a sound barrier. There are trains that go along the tracks across the lake, but they do not blow any horns. They rumble for about 5 to 15 seconds and sound like thunder. The spots furthest away from I-90 are better. You can hear the traffic, but is sounds more like water rushing than cars driving by. We were in our travel trailer so I think that made a big difference on the noise level. There are some nice hiking trails the area that are well marked. There is an easy walk down to the beach which was beautiful and plenty of areas to hang out and relax. We’d go back!

Hi all. Like other reviewers the thing I disliked most was the highway noise. We took the last FHU available for the weekend so we couldn’t be choosy.
The FP sites-full premium-which have a view of the lake are pretty sweet so grab one if you can. There is still road noise but a little bit less. $5 more a day.
The other con was that showers needed tokens to get operate and while we were there, the water was like warm. If you have a shower in your camper use it and forego the showers.
Other than that it is a beautiful Park. Very well maintained and clean. Almost like new. Big trees. And the lake is gorgeous!
Good trails within the park for dogs and humans.
If you stay here go to KATCHESS Lake. There is an access point —-not the main campground—- off Sparks road. It is less busy and so wonderful!!
And if you want a beautiful hike that is very hard but very worth it, Lake Rachel trail is about 30 mins away. It is a tough hike but the pay off is an alpine Lake - Rachel.
The only reason I wouldn’t stay at the Park again is noise. It’s a bit of a bummer. But if you can convince yourself it is a raging river or roaring waves you might be just fine.
Happy travels.

We stayed here one night on our way home from Banff and Jasper National Park trip. We had driven from Sandpoint, Idaho and needed just one more place to stay before reaching home at the Washington coast. So, I went online via our hotspot and found this state park. I knew about the highway noise up front but I figured, how bad can it be?
Well, it sounds like you are in a storm, but it is not so bad if you stay inside the trailer. However, it is true that this is a VERY lovely campground and we were extremely impressed by the upkeep and design. The roads and pads looked like brand new asphalt, bathrooms were very clean. And, the park ranger, Morgan, who really did answer the phone when I called while on Highway 90, was absolutely fabulous, helpful and friendly!!! She made it effortless to check in and stay here without an earlier reservation. This was on a Sunday night and we had full hookups.

Lake Easton campground has a lot to offer – tall trees, spacious sites, a lovely lake, great opportunities for hiking and biking… but you better love trucks and trains too, since you are going to hear them pretty much all day and all night.
The state park has two campgrounds, the Utility (Hook-up) campground with 45 sites for larger RV’s, all with full hook-ups and the Standard 87-site campground without hook-ups that is restricted to vehicles under 25 feet. Sites are paved and a combination of pull-through and back-ins, each with a picnic table and firepit. Showers use tokens which can be purchased for 2 for $1, each token lasts 3 minutes per the brochure. We didn’t use the restrooms/comfort station so can’t speak to that.
In the Utility campground try, if at all possible, to book a site on the lake side as far away from I-90 as you can get. We camped here with friends in sites 6, 8, and 10. The road noise was so loud it was difficult to carry on a conversation around the campfire. Granted we were social distancing, but you shouldn’t have to raise your voice to be heard 6 feet away. On the lake side you’ll be closer to the train noise, but that isn’t as constant as the freeway noise.
The day use area has a small swim beach and a boat ramp. A huge plus was proximity to the John Wayne Pioneer Trail and Iron Horse State Park. Over a hundred miles of linear “rail to trail” for your hiking and biking pleasure.
We had 4 bars of Verizon 4G.

We stopped here for one nite on our way home. Beautiful park in the woods with lots of shade and good privacy. Hiking and biking trails all over. The park has a tent site area, separate FHU area, lots of picnic areas, a good playground and roped off swimming area. Our site was a very level pull-thru with a picnic table, fire ring, raked tent pad and good privacy. The sites along the lake are best and farther away from the I-90 noise - yes, there is constant road noise - but the beauty of this park made up for it. The whole park is well-maintained and we’ll be back!

Lake Easton hands down has the best RV campsites I have seen to date. They are fairly large with big tent pads out the back of most to all of the RV spots and also had a nice concrete bumer, full hookups and some of the sites had elevated views onto Lake Easton. Great biking trails and we hope to come back and get to explore the cascade to palouse trail as well. This park just stands a step above most of the state parks here in Washington and we can see why its a hard place to get to come visit.
The only con is that it is close to I90 and you can hear some of the road noise. We also filmed a couple of videos for our Youtube channel here including a site by site review of the RV sites here ( we will be coming back to film the lower sites). - Unique Adventurez
Beautiful scenery , paved full hookup sites . Easy to get in with our 26 ft Navion. Self serve pay sites , first come late October. Only about five rigs in the park. Only downside is hot water for showers is bought by tokens that are not easily available. A little bit of road noise but it was not bothersome to us.
