“comfort food with a twist of elegance”
Beggar's Banquet restaurant and saloon opened its doors in 1973 with the idealistic goal of being an inclusive, not an exclusive restaurant. We serve great food and fine wine in a casual atmosphere. We use the freshest ingredients, and the menu is always a blend of the traditional and the avant garde. The menu offers comfort food with a twist of elegance. Even an American classic, such as macaroni and cheese, gets a Beggar’s kick start with a special blend of Münster, Havarti and smoked Gouda cheeses. This is a menu that has it all, from a Santa Fe crumbled chorizo omelet for breakfast to an upscale seared salmon for dinner. The home-style elegance evident in the menu carries through to the atmosphere, making Beggar’s a destination hot spot for breakfast with the family, a dinner date or a late night out with friends. And Beggar’s accepts reservations for any occasion and any time, be that a first-date night out or a birthday bash for 10 or more. Beggar’s is conveniently located on Abbott Road just off of the main strip in downtown East Lansing. It is open Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays until 1 a.m. and on Wednesdays through Saturdays until 2 a.m. The kitchen is open Mondays through Thursdays 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Fridays 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 10 a.m. midnight and Sundays 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m
