Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on February 04, 2021The string of BLM areas along HWY 62 west of Parker, AZ are all basically the same. Good roads, hard camping surfaces. Had high winds on a few of the days, but dust was not a problem. Good hikes all around from road. Many flat spaces for privacy or groups traveling together. Easy access to Parker, AZ for supplies.

Was a great spot - nice to have large, level spots. Verizon was usable but AT&T was nonexistent, even with a WeBoost.

The turnoff is directly on the highway, but there was a cone on this one while I was here, which helped. The high speed limit never ended up being a problem for me, and there are passing lanes. Once on the gravel road, it's pretty easy. A couple spots you should go slow on with many vehicles, but I saw many vehicles going farther back than I did, though I was busy working most of my time here.
I passed a handful of early spots that shuffled between other different people and had a spot with good distance from anyone else most of my time here. The road noise was sometimes bad, and there was some nasty weather going through, including wind and hail. I had my big cabin tent out, and should have staked it down a lil better. Nonetheless, it wasn't too bad. I bailed out the day before forecasts were saying 40mph gusts for hours. Just didn't want to deal with that.
The main sites to camp on are very rocky and hard. Might have to dodge some of the big rocks sticking out of the ground on some spots, but it's not too bad. Not very friendly to tarps or tents or much like that. Just know what you're putting out and where you're driving. Picked up some broken glass at my site, and there was an odd big piece of litter here and there. Not terribly dirty, but you might notice it.
Stopped into Parker, AZ for supplies and gas. Verizon was pretty good. Tmobile was good... Until it wasn't. It seemed to be great and then just not be useable for internet at all for a while.
Last couple nights, people parked pretty close to me and so it felt a little less private and quiet, but honestly, the road noise was still the worst. Some OHVs of different kinds would come through every day, along with the general shuffling of campers coming in and out further up the road. Wasn't bad in an enclosed vehicle, but it got a bit load between the highway and the traffic of this road otherwise.

Wide open and lots of room for any size rig. I saw everything from tents to big Class A rigs. Decent cell signal on T-Mobile during the day but hard to stream in the evening when everyone else wants their Netflix. Was windy for a couple of days. Close to Parker for Wall-Mart and fast food. The road was n was easy in my Class C and I see bigger rigs farther up the road.

Just 9.3 miles E of Vidal Junction, CA or 8.4 miles W of Parker, AZ on CA-62. If you miss the turn there is another a about 100 yards ahead, they both t merge into each other a short distance N of the highway.
Lots of space to spread out, easily sites for over 50 rigs with lots of distance between neighbors.
Rocky and hard packed ground with large level areas, sites suitable for any size rig, with plenty of ground clearance. Area was very clean with very little litter. May be windy at times, but beautiful vistas and wide open views (it is a desert). Stayed in January, so perfect weather.
