“stunning views of durango!”
Barnroof Point This moderate 5-mile hike is on the Colorado Wildlife and Bureau of Land Management Property. Plenty of deer, elk and grouse roam this land. At the top there are spectacular views of the La Plata Mountains with a mystical valley in between.
I enjoyed it mainly because it's secluded. No information posted so you park and look for the wood post marking the footpath. Follow the path around what I assume is barnroof point. After a while the path seems to Peter out in a flood plain with a very small creek at the bottom. Couple spots with nice views and it's pretty easy save for a couple inclines. I would recommend it if you're passing by but I wouldn't hike it a second time.
