“An escape from the bustle of city life”
Four miles of pristine beaches on the Gulf of Mexico welcome swimmers, fishermen and shell seekers. The three-mile Osprey Trail gives bird watchers a chance to spot eagles, osprey and owls in their untouched habitat. Relax on this protected barrier island and stay for a stunning sunset over the Gulf, whether you’re honeymooning or not. Located at the western end of the Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island State Park is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of urban living. There is also a section of beach that you can take your pet. Pets must be kept on a six-foot handheld leash while they are in the park. For the nature lover the three-mile Osprey trail takes you through one of the last remaining virgin slash pine forest in Florida. A trip to the Rotary Centennial Nature Center helps educate visitors about the park’s history and natural resources. There are two snack bars located in the park. The South Beach Pavilion and Café Honeymoon provides food, beverages and rents beach umbrellas, chairs, kayaks and bicycles.
