Hawks Cay Resort

This use to be one of the prime resorts of the keys, but is lacking the hospitality it once had. A beautiful spot, but no longer a place we go to to feel pampered or relaxed (we've gone here for 25 years!). Prices were gouging, food was not good and service was worse. An unfortunate change of hands has updated the look but ruined the rest...

The Hawks Cay Resort is located on Duck Key in the Florida Keys. This hotel resort is about 60 miles from Key West and it feels like you are on your own island in the United States when you get there. We had a hard time leaving the resort to do anything else! Plus its family-friendly!

Not luxurious. Overpriced. Disappointed. I'm sure it's fantastic if you bring kids. But for a getaway without the kids, I would definitely go elsewhere.

My husband had always wanted to go to Hawks Cay and they had last minute availability so we booked a two bedroom villa. The resort grounds were beautiful, the hotel lobby and pool are were really cool but that was about it. I though it was way too expensive. Husband ordered a Martini from the bar $18. There is trolly service to take you from one part of resort to the other but only one was in service and whenever we waited it was too full for our family. I have lots to complain about but we did manage to have a great time. I thought the best deal was $10 for SUP rental for 30 minutes in their lagoon but the attendant let my kids take it out for as long as they wanted. :)
