Country atmosphere with chicken coop, creek , and WOW the scenery. Give Scot a try. We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty room for our 45 eagle. If your lucky they give free eggs from thier chickens. No phone service but the best wifi I ever saw and you make calls thru wifi, worked well

I stumbled into this somewhat hidden resort after dispersed camping several days near Moab, when late at night, driving around this area looking for public lands, I nearly hit an elk and took it as a sign that I should check into an actual campground. So I got online, found the Website, and I’m so glad I made a reservation! It’s been a while since I was greeted with such a welcoming vibe, and I gotta say, this place has blown my mind with all the thoughtful and hospitable ways the entire staff, from the owner to the hosts, treats their guests, and the attention to details around every turn are outstanding! There is ample shade, and strong Wi-Fi, which is a wonderful perk, especially since there is zero cell service in this area. I recommend this resort 100%!

Arrived at noon and was greeted by friendly helpful staff. The spot reserved for me was still occupied so Dylan (mgr) rearranged and found me a spot.
Very accommodating as he had several check ins show up at one time.
No worries, site is fairly level and Dylan assisted me backing in then stoped by later to make sure I was good to go. So far we are golden!

We, at first, booked a 7-night stay after crossing into Colorado from Utah/Arizona where we spent winter. We were greeted with a smile and directed to a spot next to the creek, which was running wide, deep and fast with all of the snow melt. After settling in, Dylin came by and asked if we needed anything and gave us a dozen eggs from their chickens.
Our first spot was huge, more than long enough to keep the truck connected to the trailer if we wished (56ft total length) and we had a covered outdoor patio, 2 firepits, and a swing right next to the creek. I asked about firewood and was told it was free, in 1.5 years as full time RVers never had free firewood at a proper paid campground ever!
There was no road noise at all, at night it was dark/dark, the sky filled with stars and we enjoyed a firepit almost every single night. Our Starlink had a perfect view North and worked great, 125 down and 20 up. As a retired IT Executive, I wanted to test a theory, because this site specifically states ‘fast Internet and WIFI6’. In our experience the majority of campgrounds have no idea what ‘fast Internet’ means let alone WIFI6. I tested the performance and it was as good as our own Starlink, as Starlink Business powers their park.
After our stay here, we had planned to boondock at a few National Forest Service parks not far away, but after checking them out, those campgrounds were closed and under at least 2ft of snow, so we extended our stay another 7-nights. We had to change sites, but that was fine with us. We made good use of the free, very clean, washers and dryers.
Dolores is a 13-mile drive away, the grocery store there is excellent, and across the street is a liquor store with an extensive selection of wine and single malt.
Scott, Dylin and Jennifer really cared for us, always asking if we needed anything, and were so genuine, staying here is almost like staying with family and very rare these days. Highly recommend Stoner RV Resort, and we will be back soon!

We stayed at Stoner RV Resort and it was such an amazing experience for our family. Our family of 9 camped (tent camped) for 2 nights and had a really great time. This campground provides so many things: free firewood, electric A/C outlet in the campsite, HOT and cold running water in the campsite, a bathhouse with free hot showers, free laundry, and lots of fun family activities (basketball, volleyball, cornhole toss, soccer goals, and lots of other yard games). They have free (very fast) WiFi). Plus, the hosts took great care of us, checking in if we needed anything and bringing over items they thought would make our stay more comfortable or fun for the kids without us even asking. Plus, the setting is amazing nestled in the mountains with a river as background noise running through the edge of the campground. We highly, highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much Scott, Jennifer & Dylin!!!

I am forever on a mission for a remote RV park that is family friendly. After a long search we decided to give Stoner a shot. This place did not disappoint. I used their online booking our spot. It seemed like this was the last available spot. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Scott. He checked us in and suggested a more shady spot so we took him up on his offer. We had no problem pulling in with our 30ft travel trailer and there were many other larger rigs that pulled in with similar ease. We were able to hook up without any snags. We quickly realized what a gem of a place this was when Scott handed us a big welcome bag full of goodies, fresh eggs from his chickens and fresh baked goods. We later realized the amount of generosity offered here.
Our spot like most faced a common area full of fun sports activities for kids and adults a like. We enjoyed live music Friday and Saturday night along with movie nights each night. Scott was so accommodating to our kids. They even had rented water slide that was available for part of our stay. Everyone we met was super friendly so they do seem to draw that sort of crowd. There were also several kids for my two kids to play with. The kids enjoyed petting the cats, dogs and chickens.
Scott and Dillon have done an exceptional job of updating this older RV park. WiFi was exceptional! I don’t think I saw this two sitting down once! You can feel the love they put into this place. Restrooms and laundry were super clean. They offered us free washers and dryers along with free fire wood. The location is perfectly situated between the town of Dolores and Telluride. We enjoy all the quick access to fly fishing that this area offers.
We have stayed at other parks in the area but have been disappointed with how our kids were treated. If you are looking for a super family friendly spot with loads of activities I cannot recommend this enough! Like others, I’d love to keep this spot a secret but I’ll just have to book in advanced because these guys have absolutely nailed it!

The owner Scott was a great host. Very accomodating and laid back. The park is on the rise and is already a really peaceful mountain valley escape. We stayed near Stoner Creek and sitting on the swing by the water and having a fire was just a perfect way to end the day. Stayed a week and it was a nice escape from the busy packed areas I have been staying. Another great aspect of the park is the grocery store. It’s fully stocked like a normal grocery store with produce, snacks, apparel, truck, rv, and ATV maintenance things. 10/10 will be back next time season! My new favorite place in southern CO.

I had 6 nights booked for June 2024, but had to cancel 3 weeks later. Scott was very friendly and personable and went out of his way to (first) ensure we had the right campsite reserved, then, when canceling, was very pleasant and understanding. We both noticed about the same time that my refund hadn't occurred, but he reached out to me first! I hope to be able to rebook in the near future so I can meet this wonderful man. Folks like this are hard to find nowadays.
