“in the White River National Forest”
At an elevation of 9,320 feet, Lowry Campground is located between Summit Cove and Breckenridge, Colorado in the White River National Forest. This campground is in close proximity to Dillon Reservoir and a handful of trails, making it an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation. Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground.

We snagged a last minute, one night reservation. We’d been dispersed camping and needed a night of electric to recharge everything. The campground was small but well maintained. The camp host was so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the easy biking access from the campground to the Lake Dillon Recreation Trail.

Beautiful views on the old Lowry AFB. Vault toilets, electric and fire rims. Potable water scattered around the campground but no showers. In Dillon close to Breckinridge and Frisco.

Beautiful mountain ranges all around but sites are close together and young pines have not grown in yet. Low views are of all the campers surrounding us in site 5. Other sites probably have better views.

Only 10 minutes or less away from I-70. This place has one of the cleanest pit toilets we’ve ever seen! The camp host (Curt) was awesome as well! He checked in on campers to make sure everyone was doing okay and keeps the grounds looking great everyday.

We did not stay, but did a drive though.
The turn off road is slightly up hill with washboards to the campsite, 1/2 mile or so. It was tight in there for a rig our size, sites seemed on the small side and not very level. It was a tired looking National Forest Campground.

We stayed here (we chose this CG because we wanted an electric hook up). The CG host was friendly and very helpful. The CG was clean and quiet. If you walk along the tent road and then continue up the hill you can get a great view of Lake Dillon in about 10 minutes walk. (note, the nightly price paid was the price we paid for four nights divided by 4 which includes a $10 reservation fee and our discount for having a national parks pass.)

We stayed the end of September just before the campground was to close. Because of that there was not water available. There were about a half dozen other campers. Close to Dillon, Frisco (one of our favorite spots), and easy day trips out from here. Somewhat typical forest service campground with limited amenities, gravel roads and pads, vault toilets. As mentioned earlier the road in is gravel and washboard rutted. Camp host was super friendly.

Great view. Electric only, but water is available throughout the campground. Not sure where the nearest dump station is.
This site is very close to site 8 and I can hear every word spoken by our neighbors even when I'm inside my RV (they are talking in normal voices).
The site itself is deep with plenty of room to spread out behind our RV.
Easy access from town. Up a small mountain and back down on a paved road then turn right onto well maintained gravel Rd for a short distance.
Campground host is polite and pleasant.
Camping with our 31' rv and flot towing a jeep.
