“North Dakota's Largest Natural Lake”
Devils Lake—North Dakota's largest natural lake—is home to Grahams Island State Park an 1,122 acre park on the lakes's west side. The lake is a closed drainage basin, marked by periods of fluctuating water levels. Over the past decade the lake has risen over 25 feet. Grahams Island State Park is connected by road over an elevated embankment, and travelers should exercise caution during high winds. The lake features some of the best fishing in North Dakota, both summer and winter. Amenities at Grahams Island State Park include a boat ramp, bait shop, modern and primitive camping facilities and camping cabins.

Driving across North Dakota has proven to be a real beauty. Then we stopped at a state campground that is up there with the best we have seen. On a lake with clean wide open sites. Located in a town with excellent birding and wildlife viewing. We can't say enough about what a pleasant state campground this is.

Well maintained campground that’s suitable for all size rigs!
Some sites may require upto 75 feet of water hose and some water faucets are shared with neighboring sites!
Large sites with lots of space between neighboring sites in our loop! Three loops have lots of shade trees, including the one we were in! The one loop with FHUs has few trees and would probably be better for those with satellite tv!
Campground has a couple of trails that were well maintained and easy!
Ideal place for those with boats and other water craft! Lots of people fishing!
Campground is full on weekends, so advance reservations are a necessity!
Like all North Dakota State Parks, a $7 daily fee is added to camping fee! An annual pass is worth the investment!

We did not note the previous poster's comments about some areas being more shaded and private. We landed on the loop that really had no privacy. It was more similar to an RV park, although with a bit more space. The conveniences of a full hook up with sewer were fantastic, however. The park is extremely clean and well maintained. It seems quite newly renovated, in fact. The visitor's center was built just a few years ago. Access to the lake is great. Many people had boats in addition to their RV's.

This campground couldn't be any better, except for one thing. They double charge you for the day use permit. The campsite was only 32 dollars a night with a 7.50 day use permit for the day you arrive and the same for the next day. Great walleye fishing in spring on Devils Lake if you bring your boat.

This state park is located on Devils Lake, which is about 16 miles from the town of Devils Lake. The park is immaculate and quiet. There are plenty of RV sites that are asphalt paved. Sites are relatively level. Full hook-ups with 50/30 Amp. Lots of trees, but still able to get satellite reception. Nice store with plenty of items to fit almost anyone’s needs. Lots of fishing equipment. Store sells fishing license.

Great state park! Super pretty, clean. The Howard loop sites are huge, lots of trees and private. Maybe a little unlevel. There are great walking paths, a beach and fishing. Nice place!

Graham’s Island State Park is very clean and has several camping loops, each providing very different experiences. The Ziebeck loop has big trees and is wide open between well-spaced sites. The Howard loop is very well treed and buffered from From neighboring sites. (This was our choice.) There is new loop behind the office but there are no trees at all. The primitive loop is really lovely for tents and tent campers.
We would have given five stars but we don’t fish and this park is all about the fishing with a large cleaning shack and busy boat ramp. And while there’s a playground for the kids, the “hiking” trail is a mowed path through the grass land. If you’re not into fishing, bring a book. We use this park primarily as an overnight stop and it suits that purpose perfectly.
Firewood is $4.00/bundle but it is the remains from a mill (wide and flat). Great for kindling if you break it down, but not great for building a long lasting fire.

Stayed here on our way through North Dakota in May. No crowds but it was plenty warm. A few short walking trails, but lots of ticks on those trails so you have to be wary. Only on the trails though.
Looks like it would be great for fishing.
There are playgrounds and a dog park.
