“One of the most popular zoos in the US”
A short story about a long history and a promising future... It all began with a special gift to the mayor of Denver, a black bear named Billy Bryan. Today, Denver Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in the United States. With an exciting 15-20 year master plan in place, the 21st century will see Denver Zoo transformed into an exciting conservation center that will continue to further the evolution of superb zoo exhibitory. Denver Zoo is home to more than 3,500 animals representing 650 species. A leader in conservation, Denver Zoo has championed 495 conservation and research projects in 53 countries.
Very nice Zoo, an easy walk and entertaining. Reasonable entry prices for the value. A must if you have kids with you - or with your date.
Don't forget to check out the Chilean flamingos!
The Denver Zoo is an 80-acre zoological park located in the City Park of Denver. The zoo started with the donation of an orphaned American black bear, and has evolved and inspired the most unique zoos in the country.
With the construction of Bear Mountain, Denver Zoo became the first zoo in the United States to utilize naturalistic zoo landscapes, rather than cages with bars. The concept was expanded with tents and a variety of other animal learning experiences.
We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Denver!
Great zoo. Really enjoyed this as a stop on our road trip to stretch our legs and explore.
Fantastic zoo
The food here is actually good and reasonably priced. We got into the park for $5 cheaper because they are currently doing a special for Pokemon Go users. We showed them our app and they gave us a discount. We saved $10!
The zoo itself is just as good as any zoo I've been to. Fun place, but finding parking might be an issue. Try to get there early!
I enjoyed this zoo, bur for some reason I was expecting something along the lines of the Bronx Zoo. This was ALOT smaller than I expected.
Nothing of what I was expecting. Half of the facilities for animals we're empty, the rest had possibly one animal laying in a corner. The only plus side to the place were the giraffes, although had a mile long line when it came to feeding them.
