“Connecting America Through Coins!”
The Denver Mint is a branch of the United States Mint that struck its first coins on February 1, 1906. The mint is still operating and producing coins for circulation, as well as mint sets and commemorative coins. Coins produced at the Denver Mint bear a D mint mark (not to be confused with the mark of the Dahlonega Mint). The Denver Mint is the single largest producer of coins in the world.
Coins are an essential part of our economy, and the United States Mint typi-cally produces about 7 billion for circulation in one year! Come See...
All United States Mint tours are free of charge. Guided tours start on the hour and are available from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding federal holidays). We encourage you to make your reservation as early as possible since a limited number of tours are available.
You MUST have a reservation. Make it days in advance on the website.
Interesting tour, but come prepared! Reservations are a must. No cameras allowed, and that includes camera phones. Arrive early because you may have to park a significant distance from the Mint and they don't wait for stragglers.
My family recently went to the Denver Mint. It was a really interesting tour. There was lots of cool technology and facts that go along with the production of money. The architecture in the old part of the building was beautiful. It was like taking a step back in time a hundred years. No cameras or purses are allowed. Make sure you read up on the other rules before you go. Reservations are first come first serve so if you have a large group try and get a reservation as early as possible.
