“Historic Fur Trading Post & Museum”
Fort Uncompahgre was established as a fur trading post in 1828 by Antoine Robidoux, near the present site of Delta, Colorado. The Fort has come to life again as the City of Delta funds this unique museum that is located at the entrance to the Confluence Park complex.
We ended up stopping here unplanned and it was quite the treat! We learned so much about the old fort, learned to throw tomahawks and about the use of medicinal herbs in this area. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this!!
