Located at the start of Mt Roosevelt you can park here at the Lodge - and have all the services you need within 200 yards - Restaurant's, gambling, and when inside you can use their bathroom (not for showering or toiletries).
A trolley leaves every hour that will take you to downtown Deadwood for $1 each way - a great deal -
Sure you could boon dock in Nature by going up the mountain 2 1/2 miles on a dirt road - a few with great views if you want - but I did not see the benefits in this case being free and so close to food and entertainment. I felt like spoiling myself here. Far Better than a Walmart or Cracker Barrel
RV section is $19/night with or without electric. Not all sites are level. Nice staff at hotel.
Would return.
Stayed here during the heat wave in July 2021 and needed electric site for my 20 foot camper van. Went to hotel desk, instructed to find a site in upper parking area, then return and pay. Many sites available, set up, it was level, turned on AC and left the dog in the camper while I walked to the front desk to paid. Initially had no Verizon signal then had and three bars. Hotel has free Wi-Fi. I would definitely stay here again. In the overnight lot there’s a plaque commemorating Deadwood Dick and the cabin where he lived, which burned in a wildfire in 1959. There’s a clean porta-john in the lot, trash cans by the casino. While walking the dog, ran into an employee and he told me there’s a hiking trail behind the casino accessed by an upper employee parking lot.
We called ahead to see if they allow overnight parking for RVs. They have a few spaces with electric hookup for $19 or you can dry camp for free. No need to check in if you're dry camping. Nice level pavement, well lit parking lot for security. Some road noise but it died down at night. Good Verizon cell service and good location for the things we wanted to see. There's a free dump station right down the road as you head back towards Deadwood.
Nice spot with electric hookups. Great restaurants at the casino and the town trolley picks you up to take you to downtown Deadwood for a dollar. Also you can use the hotel pool. We loved it.
Nothing wrong with this to see deadwood, thanks.
Quiet and nice overall, a bit of highway noise but not bad. Free parking at the top of the parking lot if you don’t need hookups. $25 for electric only. Nice spot to stay to see Deadwood. Trolley to/from Deadwood comes by at 5 min after each hour if you want to go into Deadwood. Verizon cell service at the top/back of the lot was 3 bars once we sat for awhile. Still seemed to lag a bit, but we were able to set up our starlink here.
We’re in a camper van but there are other big rigs here too. Will stay here again when passing through.
50$ for dry camping...
