This one is a 5 star in our book. Not for big rigs. Vault toilet. No water. For beautiful surroundings, it doesn't get any better. We were here in June 2014.

We stayed in the last site on the right side of the road. It was roomy and needed a little leveling, but manageable. We were the only campers on Sept. 24th. You are 3 miles from town. Some local traffic drove by once in a while. Beautiful walk along the road. DO NOT go past the "no night camping beyond this point" with a camper. It is single lane with no place to turn around easily. There was some trash left behind and the vault toilet had a stronger odor than expected.

We stayed here for a night towards the end of a long road trip, at the last site on the main road before the "no overnight camping beyond this point" sign. The site was level, the gravel road getting there was relatively nice, and the scenery was astonishing. This is truly a boondocking site - no water, no power, etc. but more than worth the price of free. Make sure you have enough water & power and you're in for a great experience. If you have a really big rig, it might not be the place for you.

Fabulous free! Can hear river but not see in camp spot 2. Spot wasn’t level enough for our 28’ motorhome. Had to park kiddywampus to stay in this spot. Other spots were nice and level but we didn’t get here until late... so we’re just happy to find a spot for the night. road wasn’t too bad.

There’s 7 sites and they’re not all created equal. I ended up snagging site 1, close to the restrooms and road, level, big fire pit. The only other available site was in deep overgrown brush (I think this is site 4) and looked seldom used. The rushing river is nice but can’t be seen from all the sites. This particular night the pit toilets were in pretty poor condition (full trash, no tp, etc). There was also unfortunately a giant cow pie in my site so not sure how often the campground is serviced.

Our site was the first one on the right as you enter the camping area. This is not really a campground, but dispersed camping along the gravel road headed up into the canyon. The road and sites are pretty tight with not many opportunities to turn around. There's an outhouse (pit toilet) on site.
The real attraction to this place is access to Tongue River and the rock climbing up canyon.

This is a very lovely spot. Some tent sites are right next to the river. From site one you can only hear it. But apart from that, there was no train or traffic noise. Outhouse with no toilet paper. No trash collection or water or firewood or picnic tables. The fire pits are tall boxes, probably due to wind in the canyon, so sitting around your “campfire” is not really a thing. The access to the river is small and appeared to be loaded with poison ivy. However, the walk up the canyon road to the turnaround is gorgeous. There is NO CAMPING at the end of the road. There is an off road hike, picnic table, river access and outhouse up there.

Great campsites along the Tongue River with close hiking trails near by. Site was relatively clean with fire rings and vault bathrooms that could use a cleaning and restocking of TP. We walked the gravel road along the Tongue River Gorge one evening and it was nice. Verizon wireless signal was good enough to use as hotspot.

There are not many sites but they are among the beautiful trees and canyon. It’s one road with under 10 sites on either side. Tongue river is within walking distance. Our site had a little trail to go down and sit by the river which was peaceful. Couldn’t make a fire due to high fire danger at the time but we didn’t want to stay out to late anyway. We saw a decent size black bear in the morning walking across the road. Would stay here again for an overnight site if we had the chance to in passing.
