Dayton represents small town America at it's best. Friendly, helpful people who are obviously very proud of their town. Lots of things to do and see. We had a great time and will definitely return.

We stopped here for a night on our way east from Oregon on US 12. We like to stay off the interstate as much as possible, and boondock as often as we can. Highway 12 goes right through town and this parking lot is a half block off Main Street (behind Dingles Hardware - turn left from Main onto First Street if heading east on Hwy 12 and turn left into the lot behind the store). It is a pretty big lot and we easily found a level spot. There are public restrooms a half a block away by the Historic Depot and Caboose Park, plus a playground. There is a brew pub a block away on Main that we walked to - can’t beat that! There are no “spaces, hook-ups, amenities, etc. - this is just a place to park. The train tracks are about two feet away, but we don’t mind train whistles.

We stayed here in October 2018. Spot was level and we had a great night's sleep. The Chief Spring's Fire and Irons Brew Pub a block away had good beers and food, too.

This is a level gravel Public Parking Lot. We were there on a Saturday night in September. There were a few loud youngsters enjoying their time but we felt very safe in this small town. Next to this parking lot is a playground and a Caboose Museum - all very nicely taken care of.
There was both AT&T and Verizon reception.
Dayton has a very nice off-leash dog park too that was very well taken care of - all green grass and everyone seemed to be picking up after their dog.

They actual invite you to stay here. Had pizza at the brew pub which was very good. Small town of 2500 souls. Stayed in a 28’ Class A. I could have stayed longer.

We stayed 2 nights in the parking lot. We were the only ones here and it was very quiet. Walking distance into town with several shops and some historic buildings nearby. It is part of the Lewis and Clark Trail. Plenty of room for several RV's. Provided for free by the city. There is a kids park across the street with a train depot that claims to be the oldest one in Washington. There are train tracks but we never heard a train so it may no longer be used. T-Mobile Internet was fantastic with 40Mbps download. AT&T was also available at about 25Mbps. I believe they allow 4 nights. We did not have to notify anyone and never had any questions about being there.

This public parking is located near downtown and offers a large gravel parking lot for a quick night of dry camping. The lot is large enough for any size RV. Across the street is Caboose Park which is a well maintained pet friendly park. The highlight of the park is a real Caboose you can walk around. Caboose park is right behind the train depot which is the, "Oldest Existing Depot in the State of Washington". Dayton is a charming and peaceful town along the Lewis and Clark trail that will offer up gems of history. AT&T cell service at the public parking was 4 bars with LTE service and our mobile router signal was strong enough to stream Netflix.

Parking and location is as described and pictured by others, we found this spot with no problem with one other RV here on a Monday night. Cute Caboose Park across the way, we got food to go and ate at the picnic tables in the park. The park also has a bathroom which we believe close at 10pm which is perfect considering our TT doesn’t have a bathroom!
