“like something out of a fairytale”
Shark Fin Cove is such an enchanting little secret, known to only to insiders in Santa Cruz County. Just head a mile south along the Pacific Coast Highway from Davenport, and you'll hit the turnout for the beach on the right. There's a parking area, but no signs, so keep your eyes peeled! You should be able to see a rock outcropping in the shape of a shark fin, that's when you know you've found it. From the parking area, it's about a .3 mile hike to the cove. The trail is a bit steep, so take your time hiking and be careful. There's a path from the dirt parking area to some train tracks. Follow this path, and either go up to the right for a great view from an overlook, or take a left and head right to the beach cove. You'll have plenty of opportunities for great photo ops, and both on your way down to the cove and once you get to the sea cave itself. So, plan on spending some time to enjoy the beauty of this hidden gem and relax on the beach. -Roadtrippers
Absolutely stunning. The hike around and down to the beach and caves isn’t easy, but totally worth it. We thought it would just be over looking that large shark fin shaped rock but the entire experience was a little piece of heaven! 10/10 would recommend for the able bodied adventure seekers!
