Opened  in  May of 2004, The Owners, Dan and Gail Hoag, with the help of Gail’s brother, Terry Sauerbier, the Restaurant Manager, transformed a previous restaurant that has been located here since  the 1950's  into a faced paced casual dining family restaurant with a great variety of  delicious food.  With the  inception of the Big Sky, it has become one of the premiere destinations in Southern Livingston County, located at 5570 Hartman Road in Dansville, New York. The Big Sky Restaurant and Saloon provides a comfortable casual atmosphere, and is the perfect environment for family dining as well as business meetings and social events. The style is relaxed and the menu is extensive, where everyone always finds something to enjoy. Employing a staff of 12 and seating up to 44 guests in the dining room, Our Restaurant offers personal, courteous service with a friendly smile.. From the moment you meet your server to the last plate being cleared from your table, the staff assures you lack for nothing. Our menu features a variety of delicious entrees, over 100 to chose from, many based on a 20 year career of collecting recipes and proven to be a huge success when created by our Restaurant Manager Terry Sauerbier and his staff of professional cooks.    Terry Sauerbier  has worked for companies including T.G.I. Friday.s based in Dallas, TX., Westwood Restaurant Group based in Boston MA, and Atlantic Coast Dining Group, based in Richmond VA.   He brings those years of experience and has developed a dedicated loyal  staff  who are  young, energetic and multi-talented.  After 5 years of success in this location, he continues to strive to add new and delicious items to the menu reflecting the current trends and tastes of the public, with our kitchen's energy and enthusiasm. Big Sky Restaurant and Saloon patrons enjoy a a great variety of tastes from the menu including:  great steaks, seafood, prime rib, pasta’s, sandwiches, and more and has become a favorite destination and getaway  for guests from as far away as Rochester, Alfred, Niagara Falls, and Syracuse, NY. In fact, we have received praise from guests as far away as Texas about how incredible our slow roasted Prime Rib dinners are,  from Chicago complimenting the great steaks and Florida, saying what a great family restaurant to send loved ones to.
