We generally stay in park campgrounds or boondock, rarely in RV campgrounds, so we were happy to see this one as we were going up 54. It’s a small gravel lot with a few hookups (which we don’t need) with some permanent looking residents, overlooking a poorly maintained park. If you’re good with RV campgrounds like this, it’s probably ok, but not what 4 or 5 stars means to us.

It was freezing when I was here, so appreciated the cheap electric. Didn't explore much though. Site was a little unlevel, but didn't bother to get the levelers out. The lake was pretty. Sites weren't anything exciting but were fine. I felt safe. US cellular had 3 bars of 3g, useable for watching videos.

If it’s not thunderstorming
Very open land mostly farms
Dalhart is a good size with ample supplies
We enjoy resting here on our way to Colorado.
The profits go toward the playgrounds nearby so I’m happy to donate and it was very kind of the city to allow us to stay.
There are a number of events held close by if you’re in for some down home country fun.
Rodeos and such.
It can get Wendy Hot and rainy all in the same day and drop to freezing.
Hey, it’s Texas, stick around if you’re not happy with the weather, it’ll change.

What a great stop on your way from point A to point B. In the heat of summer the A/C (electric) is so appreciated, and the sewer hookup to provide a chance for fulltimers to do laundry or dump tanks is welcome. The lake view is nice too. Bonus: you're not right next to the train track like so many other parks in this region. Thank you Dalhart. The people are kind and the park stays active with locals, the trail around the lake is a bit over 5 miles.

Lake Rita Blanca State/City Park - Dalhart, Texas - $15.00 (cash or check only) per night - No Reservations; First Come First Serve only. This was a great find on our journey from Texas to Colorado. The park was a state park at one time, but has been turned over to the City of Dalhart. There are only 10 gravel, fairly level sites, each with full hook-ups and your choice of 20, 30, or 50 amp electricity. There is also a dump station onsite, but no other amenities. Apparently this is a well-kept secret, because we are literally the only ones in the rv portion of the park. There are some trees at the back end of the gravel, but alas they don’t do much for the hot temperature of 103 degrees today. As you might imagine, it is quite. Perfect for a one-night stay for us.

5 sites with water and electric hookups for RV’s. Volleyball, Tetherball, and playground available. I spoke with a local and she had advised that if we took a left on the trail by the lake about a quarter of a mile down we could take a left on a trail that leads to a waterfall and if you take a right and 2-3 miles we would run into a canyon. There is a restroom closer to the baseball and rodeo area.

In a great location on our trip heading south from CO. Easy to get in to and fairly level. No trees or tables close by but accessible if desired. A nice view of the lake. Could hear trains but not close enough to be too loud. So happy to find these nice little parks on our journeys. Thanks to all the towns that provide them.

Spent the night here on our way north to Colorado. Very easy to find with Google maps, right off 87.
The sites are fairly level, with the surrounding area being gravel. Back in site, but no problem getting our 40' rig in.
Lake is behind the RV and down a hill.
4 bars on our Verizon phones.

Nothing fancy; however it is FHU. We got the last open space (#3). Of the eight spaces, six appeared to be occupied by long term campers. Easy hook up and all functioned as expected. We are self contained so lack of amenities was no problem. See more details
