Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 18, 2023We stayed here for a weekend waiting for our site at Point Beach State Park in WI to free up. The park is just outside Crystal Falls. Not much to see there. The park itself is well maintained with either full sun or shady wooded lots. We chose the shade. Our site was beautiful backing onto woods and the lake.
Campers were friendly and the campsite was generally pretty quite.
Good as a stopover for sure but would not come this way again just to stay here.

We found this place on near Iron River so we could do the Apple Blossom Bike path. Busy campground on the weekend. Campground is a bit of away from lake. Need to hike, bike or drive to lake.
Bathrooms are older but well taken care of, restocked TP in the evening! Good showers.
Nice site tucked away. Hard some issues finding a flat site for van.

Michigan should be proud of their state parks, we have yet to stay at one we didn't like and this was no exception. The campground has three loops. A and B loops seem to be older and the C loop seems to be newer. We stayed in the B loop. Nice level sites, decent size for our small travel trailer, but larger units would fit in nicer in the C loop. We saw many 5th wheels and Class A motorhomes while we walked around the park. Two small bath houses with showers, one in the A loop and one in the C loop. Nice beach, but about a half a mile away. The only bummer was the traffic noise on US Highway 2 just outside of the campground. Other than that, a nice park! 5 minutes to gas stations, a full service grocery store, and restaurants. FYI Verizon users: the A and B loops only seemed to have two bars of 3G, but the C loop had two bars of 4G LTE on our phones.

This is a very nice, underutilized Michigan State Park. Three loops and many sites to choose from. Good separation between forested, gravel campsites. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Electric only but potable water and a dump station is available. Private showers with plenty of hot water. There is some road noise from US 2, but it’s really just background. We have been here before and will definitely return.

We stayed here on an overnight stop driving route 2. It is right off the road, could not be more convenient. The sites are clean and generously sized, wooded, relatively private. There is one pit toilet in the loop, so that piece is lacking. We did not use the park at all. It is a great state park experience, to which we are partial. We would stay here again.
