We attended the Grand Design Rally at Deer Run and had no expectation of the campground itself. It is not far off I-40, down a long, well paved country road. We had no problems with our 44' fifth wheel. Upon arrival signage was good and plenty of parking. Check in at the office/store/café was pleasant and the staff very friendly and accommodating. A map of the campgrounds was provided and directions to our site were clear and accurate. This is a gated resort and a key card was provided with a $10 deposit. The interior roads are all gravel, graded and packed in very good condition. There is the occasional speed bump that is difficult to see since the gravel visually blends all together. Our site #16 was massive in length and width with the back 1/3 having a waist high wood fence border. Water, 50/30/20 electric, sewer, and cable(not tested) all conveniently placed and in working order. The scenic highlight was the lake in the center of the grounds that has a launch area, beach, playgrounds, fishing, and sitting areas. This is a BIG lake for a campground. It also has an in ground pool (not open for the season yet though). The resort covers some 200+ acres so be up for a good walk or bring/rent a golf cart. Overall it is a very nice park in a beautiful setting. We have already booked another trip here.

You can order fresh made sandwiches and pizza from the store. We did not try them but people said they were good. The popsicles were definitely good! The store is also the only place where wifi is available. This is probably the best stocked camp store I have ever seen!

Only downside is the seasonal area that they have with individual property owners. There are some sites in that area that should be removed as they are very old and unkempt. We had no problems with the 'locals' though.

Very nice & quiet. Staff and other campers were nice and accommodating. Fishing was very slow due to water being cold.

We are full time RV travelers who had reservations and a route through several states from NC to MN when the coronavirus pandemic caused the shutdown of many campgrounds. When I received our first cancellation notice I made a reservation for 5 nights at Deer Run to replace the cancelled site. After receiving many more cancellation notices, we decided to shelter-in-place at Deer Run and fortunately were able to extend our stay at the monthly rate.

We were there from the 3rd week of March to the 3rd week of April, 2020, which was a little before their high season, so the sites in the owners' area were mostly unoccupied and the seasonal amenities were not yet open. I'm sure the stay at home orders kept the occupancy down as well. Given the situation, I don't think we could have found a better place to settle in for a month.

The grounds are well maintained, there are many long pull-through sites that are popular with the weekend campers and the open space around the lake provides a setting more like a state park than an RV resort. The park is back on a scenic country road which means no road noise and nights are dark and quiet so you can hear the croaking frogs and the babbling brook and small waterfalls near the lake. The sites are set up for cable TV and they have recently extended WIFI throughout the park, for an additional fee. The laundry and restrooms/showers are clean and a good place to shelter in a storm (we experienced that too). The camp store is well stocked and the staff is simply the best - very friendly, helpful and accommodating!

Verizon cell service at 2 bars was sufficient for calls but not strong enough for FaceTime.

We visited this campground as passport America members so the price indicates the reduced rate.
This campground is spacious, clean, manicured, and well managed. We would definitely stay again.
We did not use the bath house as the sites were full hook up.

Very well managed, extra clean bathhouse and showers, exceptionally level spots - didn't have to level at all. The camp store and check-in staff are really great and helpful. Lots of extended timers and an entire section of full timers. Great playground, dog park, picnicking, pool and activity area. Nice little lake with fishing and a swimming beach. They don't allow mini bikes or ATVs - noise is minimal.

Recommend spots by the lake or along the wooded side of the roads. The rest of the sites are far too close together - almost like camping in a parking lot. Choose your site carefully.

We were there at the end of winter season so not many of the resort functions had been spun back up yet but it looks to be extremely family friendly. We are an empty nest couple so that was not important to us. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots to explore and enjoy.

The very friendly host called close to their closing time and asked when we thought we would arrive. We arrived very late and she had our welcome packet ready and waiting for us. Campsite was super easy to back into, level and clean. Bathrooms did not disappoint! We enjoyed our peaceful walks around the lake. Hope to stay again soon when we are back in town to climb at Obed!

We stayed here for two nights in mid-July of 2023. We needed to fill in a few nights before the campground I had picked out for our next stop had availability. Nice check in & great store with lots of fun stuff! The site I had reserved was a nice-long pull-thru and yes, some of the sites are close, but this was fine! We could see the lake.
Pros: Nice check in, clean bathhouse & the cleanest laundry EVER! Fenced dog park. Nice creek coming out of the lake for our Labrador retriever to splash about in. Trash cans randomly spread out throughout the CG. Nice sites. Very pretty! Much more of a campground feel than a RV park.
