This is more of an RV park than a campground. Sites were very close together and tent camping was on asphalt pads only (no grass or woods). If you are looking for privacy or a wooded site for a true camping experience, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. If you are looking for a place to RV camp for an extended period of time then this may be a good fit.

Campsites are nicely paved and maintained. We paid for an electricity and water site. There weren't too many people when we stayed, so we had a lot of privacy. It seems though that there is a fair amount of separation between campsites. There is a dump station.

The bath house is nicely maintained and offered hot showers. From our campsite we had a lovely view of budding trees and pine trees. The green grass was mowed.

Although we didn't use either, there is a swimming pool and a restaurant within the park. There are lots of hiking trails and boating opportunities.

NOTE: The $24.70 included fees/taxes. We didn't pay the reservation fee.

Great state park with lots to do for everyone.

RV/tent/cabins are plentiful. Restaurant serves buffet 6 nights a week with all you can eat Catfish on Friday and Ribs/BBQ on Saturday. They also serve alcohol (reasonable cost).

Over 10 miles of trails, water sports and simply hanging out in the quiet camping areas are worth the drive.

They also have site wide wi-fi as an added feature (we didn't use it as we were on the cell network with good signals).

We were here for the eclipse so the prices were higher than usual. The normal published price is $22.50/night. There are several asy hiking trails and Byrd Lake is perfect for canoeing and kayaking. Bath houses are old but very clean and well maintained. The staff is also helpful and has an active program schedule. I'm not a golfer, but the holes I saw were beautiful and well maintained. A few people have told me it is a nice course.

We enjoyed a great week at this park. Though we love the rustic charm of parts built by the CCC in the 30's, we are always a little nervous pulling in to these older parks with our 35' fifth wheel. It turns out the roads in the park are all very accommodating for our rig. There are a few places in the lower loop (where we stayed) that you'll need to drive slow and watch the trees. The upper loops are much wider and we would have stayed there, but they were still closed for the winter when we arrived. All the sites are paved and most have 50 amp and several in the lower loop have sewer. All the bathhouses except for one are a bit old, but just remember CCC charm, being grateful for warm water, and you'll find the good.

We hiked all the trails except for the overnight trail many times and you'll love how they meander beside the rivers and along bluffs. It's a given that you'll have to also enjoy the great food at the lodge at least once while you are there too and hopefully you'll get a table overlooking the lake like we did. If you like history like the CCC, look for the blog we wrote about some other fascinating villages to visit while you are in the area.

We only got to stay here one night as we were headed to Gatlinburg the following day. This park is very large with over 100 sites. All have water and electric and some have sewer also. There is a dump station on site. There are walking trails. The bathrooms have showers and were very clean. All sites have a picnic table and fire rings. Ours also had a bbq grill. Great park. Hope to stay here again.

We live about an hour and a half from the park. We wanted to go somewhere close for a weekend adventure. Cumberland Mountain State Park definitely hit the mark. The park has paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes available to rent. They also have hiking trails, a restaurant, and even a golf course. My only concern was the state of the bathrooms. I felt they could have been a bit cleaner. Overall we had a wonderful experience and we will return soon.

Been camping for 30 years and this is the best campground I’ve been to so far. Area 1 is the densest.

One of the few state parks we’ve stayed in with WiFi. Fairly roomy sites in loop 4. Bring leveling blocks!

This wasn’t our first stay at Cumberland Mountain. We love it so much! Beautiful campground, shady, a Great Lake for fishing or kayaking, good trails, and a great restaurant.
