Quiet campsite, just on the other side of a hill from the highway. No road noise, no light pollution. Barely used, we had one set of neighbors in tents. There’s a nice little hike up to see dinosaur footprints nearby. Sites aren’t marked very good but the places you’re not allowed to camp are marked well. Road is a little washboarded but is fine for large campers. We brought our 34’ 5th wheel back here just fine.

This was our first time using BLM land for camping, so we were a little nervous with a 41 ft MH + trailer, and we were nervous about being able to find a spot because we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. We shouldn't have worried - even with it being a little busier there was plenty of room!
The sites are all packed dirt. The road coming in was little 'washboard-y' - just make sure you drive slowly and you'll be fine. Right by the Dinosaur Footprint trail which is cool. Lots of mountain bike trails too to choose from.
We travel for work (BestofTheInterstate.com) and love being able to find free camping. We will definitely be staying here again.

Stayed here in our 40 toyhauler to ride trails, visit Arches, Canyonlands & Dead Horse Point. Trail access right from BLM location.
Easy ride into Moab, too crowded for us. Good Verizon signal. Lots of weekenders very quiet during the week. Plenty of room to spread out.

Large plain of sparse sage grass so distant campers are very visible. Surrounded on all side by rocky ridges which affords privacy from the highway. There are numerous sites although we found only a couple remaining on our stay. I it’s great for our overnight and a popular arm and especially mountain bike trail head.

Nice area and well maintained dirt road. More people here than I expected on a Wednesday but still quiet. We drove all the way back to trailhead but couldn’t find a spot without encroaching on others, so we went back towards the highway and veered right at some fork in the road. Way less people and we found a spot pretty quickly. Awesome sunset and night sky!

We got here on a Wednesday and had trouble finding a spot for our 42’ rig since it was so busy. The main road going in was in good enough shape for dirt/rock. No potholes, but still had to go slow so it didn’t beat us to death. Once you veer off the maid road, there are a few areas where you have to watch your overall angle with a rig this big, but it’s definitely doable.
The biggest complaint here is the dust, but that goes hand in hand with pretty much all of this area.
There are a few trails here and we watched a ton of people coming down the hill on mountain bikes.
Internet was good for Verizon PUDP (15d/4u) and fast on ATT at (75d/15u)
This site is about 35 minutes to Moab, but the construction going on right now means that it takes about 1.5 hours from about 10am-6pm. Good overall location and we will use this place again if back in the area.

We stayed here to be close to Arches. We were supposed to stay closer, but found out that the other one was WAY too busy. This site was perfect for us. There were people around, but not so many people that they were right next to you. We do like having some people around for safety. It was busy with people that had mountain bikes and OHV's, but we did not witness any parties or problems. There were some with fires and night or kids up late, but that's normal in any camping area.
The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because the road coming in is rough. A bit of washboard, but if you go really slow it's more tolerable. However, there are a LOT of roads that are worse. Any size rig can fit here, you just need to drive around until you find a good location for your size. There were some prime areas by the mountainside, but don't think we could have fit a bigger rig there. Most sites were level enough you can finish leveling yourselves.
The big plus to this site was that the Dinosaur Trackway was in the rear, and a short drive away. It was really cool to see the tracks in this location. We visited all the parks in the area while we were here, and even stayed longer because there was so much to do. This area definitely beats the closer areas if you just want a quieter place to stay, but the other areas south of here are much busier, nosier, but have a better view.
Another plus on this site was that there is a cell tower across the freeway, so both of us (ATT & Verizon) had excellent cell coverage. ATT was reaching 90mbps download, and Verizon was around 20mbps.

We love staying here whenever we visit Arches National Park and Moab. There are tons of large level campsites for big rigs and some smaller private sites for tent campers.
It was more crowded than we've ever seen it when we were here a week ago but there were always some empty campsites by the large hill between the main camping area and the highway. If you can’t find a campsite along the main BLM 143 road, I suggest driving along the base of that hill because chances are there is an open site there.
