We stayed at F.K for one night, mid-week in July (which is "peak" time). I'd imagine that on a weekend it might be hard to find a spot because the campground was definitely pretty full! No showers, but water to each camp site. There are restrooms, a SUPER nice playground and picnic area.
The sites were awesome! Large, and very private. You can't hardly see any other campers because the trees and ferns are so thick around the sites! The only "access" issue is that many of the sites may not fit a travel trailer, or you will be unable to back in to the spot. We stated on site 4 and could pull our 26' Airstream in easily...just be forewarned that if you're towing, your options will be limited:)
Great find...close to amenities, private, and lots of natural beauty!

This campground is best suited for smaller rigs or tents, but there are a few spots that will fit a mid-size RV. There is also one spot with hook-ups, everything else is dry. We ended up in an extra parking area next to a site after consulting with the camp host. This worked out well for us as it was easy to get in and out of for one night.
There is some road noise along the edges, but the center isn't too bad and you can follow the trails into the middle of the woods and feel alone. It's only a few miles from Jedediah State Park for advanced hiking and giant redwoods. Unlike the state park, you can walk your dogs on the trails in Florence Keller and we received some cell signal. There is a very nice playground in the park.

Keller is a hidden secret. Get there any morning or early afternoon and you will find a spot. However, if you are 26' and above, there are limits to the number of sites you can get...so get there early and you will get a spot. Site "B" is the largest pull through, and a 40' and car will fit, but you need to unhook before you pull in to make it fit. 45' "might' fit, and will only fit in this site, and perhaps one or two others....but not your tow car. You are IN THE REDWOODS when you camp here...it is cool, it is quiet (although some sites are closer to US 101 than others. There are NO hookups, no dump station, but you can take on water. GREAT park, and we are going to stay there again later this summer.

Pros: -excellent and easy access from the highway
-Big beautiful trees throughout
-A lovely park and jungle gym for kid
Cons: -quite tight!! We have a 17' trailer and an f150, and it took 3 spots before we found one we could squeeze into.
-Highway traffic noise
-Scuzzies!
We didn't actually see the camp host but their site was... Junk-yardish? For lack of a better word. We were there in Feb so only two other spots were taken. One of which has a sketchy tent and full sized BBQ.. weird? No one actually there. The other was two sites down from us... A travel trailer that looked like squalor and almost unlivable. No one there until around 8pm, and suddenly there was an unusual amount of traffic coming through the park. You can connect the dots.

Sites are very tight indeed. If you are a #VanLife person or have a very short trailer or motor home, you can probably make it work. Sites here with no hookups are $15. There's one site, #14, which has full hookups with 30 amp service for $20. Unfortunately, that's right next to the camp host's site, which he has managed to junk up with tarps, piles of wood, and so on. So, site 14 is kind of depressing - and short. I wouldn't put anything bigger than 23' in there.
That said, the host seems pleasant and doesn't mind answering questions. Bathrooms are incredibly basic and worn, but they flush, are clean, and appear to work. No showers. If you camp here, you are in a nice forested location. There are some bigger / older trees here, though the biggest trees are gone and their stumps serve as nurses for newer trees more than anything else. When we toured the site, nobody else appeared to be staying in the campground, though there was an unattended trailer that had clearly seen better days, and a boat which probably belonged ot the camp host.
Given the choice, we'd either stay at Jedediah Smith State Park where we were able to camp for only $17 because we already had an "America The Beautiful" national parks pass (Also, JSSP has brand new heated bathrooms and showers), or at the nearby Crescent City KOA, which we've used before. The KOA is of course more expensive, but it's fine. (They also have some goats you can visit with and a few nice redwoods on the property)

This park is tiny, tight and gorgeous. If you have a big rig or trailer, you're likely out of luck. But if you can make it fit, this campground has major upsides. We squeezed our trailer and Volvo between two massive redwood stumps that created a gateway to our site. Beautiful trees surround you, ample fresh water spigots, quiet. clean and super close to everything. There are no dump stations or showers so prepare for that. I would have loved to spend more time there.

I’ve camped here a number of times while going back and forth from CA to WA. Gorgeous scenery in the redwoods, convenient place to stop while traveling... it’s close enough to the highway to get moving again the next day but not so close you can hear it. There’s some nice paths through the redwoods to stretch your legs, the sites feel private enough due to the thick forest, and it’s super affordable for a one-night camp site in CA where prices are generally rediculous for tent camping.

Stayed here in mid October 2018 and had a great experience. Saturday night the place was pretty full, but we still easily found a spot to fit our 29' rig and car into. The setting was beautiful with nice trails and water spigots everywhere. I did see what appeared to be a couple homeless folks, but they kept to themselves. The place was very clean and quiet, too. If it had a dump station, it would easily be 5 stars!

We pulled into this campground with the full intention of staying a week in order to explore the Redwoods area. We knew it was going to be tight when we pulled our rig in, and found spots that would of been tight but doable. This campground is in a beautiful location, just about picture perfect. HOWEVER!!!!!!.........we chose to move on due to the circumstances of the other campers, especially the one parked directly across from the camp host site. This guy with his family had heaps of garbage bags growing over the top of his cab (about 20 bags), like they had been camped there for a month. The camp host site itself was not inviting, therefore we decided we didn't want to trust having our camper sit unattended for long periods of time there. We ended up going to Panther Flat USFS campground on 199, and had a perfect stay. Its hard to judge a place without staying there, but its not often they I choose to move on due to the behaviors being allowed around a campground. These are public spaces that are to be shared, and not made for people to be uncomfortable by your actions.
