Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on June 20, 2020Crawford City is a no frills self contained location. About 10 spots towards the back of the park. Parking is on the grass with one exception of a long pull through site on the northeast corner. I did see water spigots but don’t know if they have water.
Three day limit but not sure it is enforced.
There is an RV dump site located at the north end of the park.
Verizon was 3 bars, 29/14 mpbs down/up.
Some noise from the coal trains.
Park is close to Fort Robinson State Park which has lots of history and things to do for the family.

A great little park in a struggling town. They have really stepped up their game with this park.
New 20/30/50 amp service pedestals (free!), shade, water, a dump station, 4 dead level sites with electric and more sites without electric.
Crawford is not in good shape economically, but the people are nice and you can tell they are working hard to appeal to people, though they might not be excited to have more people around. A bit of a paradox.
The park is very well kept and they have events often, including a powwow while we were there and a fiddle contest the week after. There are two playgrounds, restrooms, a basketball and tennis court (though we didn't find a tennis court net), a volleyball court (with a net!), a nice foot bridge, and not too many flying pests. There are horses next door that you can't see but they do increase the flies. A few rolls of fly paper from the hardware store and that was solved.
The hardware store, and the rest of the core of the town, is a few blocks away from the park. There's a small market, post office, local honey store, a few restaurants, and a package liquor store. The rules on the park sign specify no alcohol. We assumed they meant outside if the RV. ;)
Verizon 4G LTE is crazy strong here, we had 4 bars without the booster. With the booster, all 5 bars. See photo of Network Cell Lite app. There are no over-the-air TV signals available here either with our powered antenna or our mast-mounted directional antenna 14' up off the ground. Plenty of cellular data speed for HD video streaming, though.
The 3 day limit is reportedly enforced, but you can ask for an extension. Mike the maintenance guy suggests you ask before the sheriff shows up...
One note on access - there are three stone pillars at the end of main street/entrance to the park. If your rig weighs more than three tons, you can't use that entrance. Waze can take you around to come in the other way.
Oh, and there are 100 trains a day (we are told, but we didn't count) that go through the rail yard next door. Didn't bother us much, especially with the windows shut and the fan from the AC unit blowing. :)

So a bit of an update. Park is no longer free. $20 for the electrical sites. Tents are $10.
Access at the main entrance is restricted. About 200 feet in from the pillars is a bridge with 5 ton load limit.
So larger, heavier rigs need to go to the northwest side of town, west through the livestock auction site and then turn left into the north end of the park.
Now the really bad news. If there is a forecast of rain, or recent rain, DON'T USE THIS Route. The road from the north end of the park, past the rodeo arena and around the south side is dirt, not gravel. As I was scouting this route I nearly got stuck in 4 wheel drive with my Canyon pickup. Anything heavy, especially motorhomes won't stand a chance. If you are in the park you may not get out until the road dries out.
It is still a very nice park. Any size rig can fit in the 4 power spots and tents can camp just about anyplace. And the sites are gravel base and the road in the park is hardback gravel so not an issue in wet weather.

We stayed for three nights in this pretty little city park. We chose not to use one of the four electric hookup spots in order to save money and only used the water. Other than the train whistle, the park was very quiet throughout the three days. Three other trailers were camped near us. The park is an old abandoned fish hatchery with playgrounds, river, lots of green grass, frisbee golf and restrooms. The town of Crawford is very cute and should be explored. Also very close to Ft Robinson and the Smiley Canyon scenic drive. If you can get past the train noise, I’d call it a hidden gem.

This is a nice little park with 4 sites that offer water and electrical with 30 and 50 amp service. Three of the sites were taken and the 4th was not in service or so we thought. There was a cone in front of it, but the city staff said it was to protect the water hose junction from the end spot since the water spigot didn't work and they ran a hose to the next closest spigot.
Our 42' 5th wheel is setup for boondocking, so we opted for the primitive camping area. This area doesn't have any designated spots and has water spigots throughout. We were able to connect our 50ft water hose and get about 60 psi of water pressure. We parked across the little pond and were by ourselves the entire time. The suggested rate is $20 for hookups and $10 for primitive camping per night. There is a maximum stay of 14 nights.
There is an RV dump station across from the electrical sites that functioned well. We had great Verizon and AT&T service. There are toilets, a playground, tons of open space, a walking bridge, and a river. There is a post office, two bars, laundromat, restaurant, and bank all within a couple blocks of the park entrance. The laundromat has top load washers and cost $2 per load. The front load dryers worked well and also cost $2 per load. The post office accepts packages and will hold them for 30 days. The bank has a drive up ATM with a little car wash across the street.
Overall this is a great little park with a lot of space. If you're in the area and need somewhere to stay, I recommend coming here.

Maintenance people we met were very nice. There is a livestock auction house, motorcycle racetrack and trainS all nearby, but you get used to the noise.
Very nice park with 4 electric sites and a few tent sites. Trash barrels, a playground and horseshoe pits. Max stay 14 days. Also have a dump station and potable water.
Wonderful city park.!

Road through Park very wet/muddy and lots of potholes. Sites are level, electric only at electric sites, water hydrants a distance away. $10 for non electric parking in the grass. 14 day maximum stay. Bridge Into the Park is a 5 ton limit. It was flooded with water while I was here. I believe they had a pretty powerful thunderstorm the night before, lots of branches and tree debris everywhere. I didn’t use the restroom while here so no comment on cleanliness. Great for an overnight. I posted a picture of the sign at the entrance with the fees.

We arrived expecting to not find a spot and surprisingly there is not one person here. The 4 campsites all the way in the right side of the park. We parked in space 4 hooked up to electric and water for 20.00 for the night. There is RV dump right across the park loop. Maybe it’s the time of year but the flies made it impossible to eat or be outside. There are bathrooms but they have not been cleaned in a few weeks and are pretty disgusting.
There are stockyards on the other side of the campgrounds you can’t see them but you can hear them. BNSF Railroad tracks right next to stockyards, lots of horns.
This used to be a State fish hatchery the buildings still stand but no longer used the park is nice and big to go stroll through.
Downtown Crawford is right outside the park, almost a ghost town.

Very nice city park and great landing base to explore Ft Robinson State Park and the Toadstools. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and were surprised to see that there was only one spot left. Thankfully it happened to be the spot with the most shade (site 4). A LOT of people came by looking for spots while we were there, so it ended up being a lot more popular than we expected.
Cell was good and site was level. Two cons were that the flies were pretty bad and also there is a train that runs about 500 ft away. There is no rail guard so it blows its whistle… probably twice an hour, all day all night. It was extremely loud, so be prepared to use earplugs or a noise machine.

Good level site with 30/50 amp service and water. No sewer but dump station close by. Good shade under huge trees. Full Xfinity cell signal (Verizon 4G LTE). Within the quaint town of Crawford NE. Only 3 mi from Fort Robinson State Park (excellent historic park). Next time I will definitely reserve a campsite on the State Park.
Negatives: busy train tracks next to park with trains sounding horn all day and night. Very loud! Also, cattle auction yard next to park. I think it was the source of a horrendous flies infestation. No fire ring or facility for campfires. Aside from the trains and cow moos, it was very quiet. I had the whole park to myself.
