Nestled in the dunes along Lake Michigan, wooded lots with great shade, a great family park. Some great swimming, hiking and camping along the shoreline. Covert Park has 62 sites on 50 acres of shaded woodland. Our developed sites located in two separate camping loops, have water and 30 amp hook-ups, with a dump station on site. We can accommodate most RV’s up to 32 feet in length. Our primitive walk-in sites are nestled in a wooded setting and all campsites are within a five minute walk to the beach.

We stayed in spot 19 which was fairly level and could handle a larger rig. We camped here in a 25' Class C with water and electric hookups. Management bids on the park to run it and this late in the year they must have had there fill of campers as they looked tired. The bathrooms/showers are clean and they assign you a door code to get in (I assumed it was to keep those not renting a spot but visiting the lake out of the buildings). This is not a well known park. My wife stayed her for weeks in her younger adult years. She says August is when the lake is at it's warmest. The beach was large with sand. We could wade out for yards in the cool water up to our chest. We had a fire ring and were camped next to a tent. I'd characterize the park as being similar to a state park but with a great big lake attached. Same atmosphere. We plan to stay here again but maybe for a week bedtime. We had no cell phone or internet coverage. Nice break from electronics! The beach is not dog friendly but there are dog friendly, and free, beaches in the immediate area. We did not leave the park to tour the area, but it is relatively close to larger town where there should be plenty to do. We stayed during weekdays so I'm not sure if the park gets loud during the weekends.

Stayed over the weekend and in to the week. Small sites that might not be great for a large rig. Some are not level at all. Sites are right next to one another and there were a lot of kids due to being so close to the beach.
Showers were “push button” but clean and mostly hot. Bathrooms were always spotless and facilities were pleasant. The staff were super friendly and the office had a great, inexpensive selection of necessities and things you might have forgot.
I do have Google Fi cell service in addition to Verizon and was able to get 1-2 bars of service, which I think uses T Mobile towers. No service for Verizon.
Cost includes $8 extra a day for dogs and that is per pet. Just something to keep in mind.
Overall had a great experience here and would come back!

Covert Beach is a small county park that is quiet and isolated with a gorgeous stretch of Lake Michigan beach. Lots of families walking around. There was NO cell signal other than emergency calls (Verizon). Sites are heavy black dirt. Bathhouse was clean. Water and electric were good. The dump station IS the entrance road, so Friday at 5PM might not be the best time to arrive! (We came in at 8:30PM, no issues.). The super friendly and helpful staff met us at the office with a golf cart, and gave my husband a quick tour to see the approach and back-in situation for our site. Very much appreciated as we’re still pretty new.

This was a simple campground with direct access to the beach. Was quiet and clean.
