“beautiful 1894 carriage house”
This Victorian property was built in 1894 and covers 1/2 acre in the downtown historic district. The owners reside in the 17-room main house, which they have recently restored. In March, 2013, the upper level of the carriage house was completely remodeled and is now, for the first time, offered for short-term rental. The grounds are surrounded by walls, trellises, and a portico gated entrance. David Austin old English roses intertwine with wisteria, honeysuckle and passion flowers. Fruit trees, vegetable garden and ornamental perennial gardens bloom from Spring through Fall. In season, enjoy picking fresh herbs, heirloom tomatoes, vegetables, blueberries and strawberries from our small organic kitchen garden. Feel free to pick mint or lemon verbena for a cup of tea while sitting on hand-carved antique teak garden benches. Our historic central location is perfect for walking or biking to all downtown & OSU events, restaurants, parks and entertainment. The rental is on the upper level of the Carriage house. The lower level is not used for car parking, thus no garage doors opening & closing.
