Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on April 24, 2019Was parked @3 miles up the road for 4 nights on a well site before a ranger knocked on my door today and said that wasn’t allowed for safety reasons and steered me to this location. It’s perfect! Quiet. Secluded. Breezy 🥴
Red clay road was a bit rough (rutted) getting in but so worth it for the cost!

The other reviews describe this site perfectly, especially Rambleon’s. If the site near the cattle guard is taken, the one we were in, then I would continue on the road and park on one of the well sites until a Ranger asks you to move. The well sites are not marked no trespassing or no parking and they are very level and huge.
If you are like us, this is the place you dream of finding for mountain experiences.

This place was on a slight angle in our camp and about 30 feet from our car was the canyon and it was amazing to sit and look out over the canyon. There is a lot of wood for fires and luckily for us other campers had already built fire pits.

Pretty far off the beaten path with very few other campers. As you come down CR N the road gets progressively worse. I was very comfortable pulling my 21’ TT that has very low clearance to lat 37.401143 long -108.817048 where there are two large pull through spots just before another cattle guard. Beyond this point there’s a lot more camp sites available but I wouldn’t attempt the drive because the road is deeply rutted. Ventured to the end of the road after dropping my camper and the sites are excellent for tents and there’s a good turn around about .25 miles farther down with even more impressive views. My only complaint is the excessive amount of shell casings and broken bottles laying around

We stayed in the 2nd spot on a Wednesday and no one else showed up. It was just us with beautiful scenery and a nice breeze.

We loved this spot! When we got to the top we pulled into the third spot on the left because the first two had been taken. We went a little further and found a fourth spot that was large and could fit a trailer! The view was breathtaking!!!

Drove in with a 16ft camper after sunset. The road that veers left off of the main road can be a little rough, but once here there are a few small sites with a great view of the canyon and mountain. Not enough room for a large RV, but for small campers and tents it is perfect! Saw many shooting stars, one that was a fireball, and a strange triangle shaped craft. The sites are clean for the most part, although there are remnants of shells and clay discs that someone used for target practice. Very quiet. Overall, highly reccommend! Sure beats Walmart!

We camped here in late April and absolutely loved it! The views right from our site were stunning, you can see Mesa Verde off to one direction and Monument Valley off to the other. We did a bit of exploring around the area and had a great time with it. The weather was OK, but definitely a very exposed place during windy days. The Verizon 4G LTE was lightening fast, and we could not have asked for a better place to set up and work for the week.
The road you take for the last mile is pretty rough and we had some concerns about getting our 32' Class C down it - but ultimately we went slow and it was perfectly fine. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and found a large level spot with an incredible view vacant so we set up for the week. There were a few other campers throughout the week and I saw a ranger drive through once. Very quiet and peaceful up here.
The roads up to the last mile were perfectly fine and in good shape. The final left turn that takes you about a mile up to the camping is easy to miss as it at first looks like a OHV trail road - but it smooths out after the first few hundred feet and after that the biggest concern is not getting scratched up and not encountering anyone coming the other way. I do not think that a GPS will direct you to turn here, so you will need to map it out the old fashioned way.

Just needed a night to break up the drive home and this probably wasn't the best choice. It's way off the path and then once at the park entrance it's a long dirt rutted out road...... I am not even sure we're we're at the right spot. There was a fire ring and a lot of trash and it was obviously someone's favorite shooting spot. Anyways we gave up looking and parked there for the night. Very quiet night of sleep and surprisingly decent cell for work in the morning

Okay, this place is pretty far off the beaten path. That said, once you get there, it is amazing! Google maps took us to the beginning of the last dirt road, so I just continued forward until I found a place that would work with my truck. We camped in a tent, so we had no issues there. There were the remains of fire pits, so we knew people had camped there before. Once you've set up, you can see for miles! Mountains in the distance, plus beautiful stars at night. We got there around 7 at night and left by 9 AM, because it was already getting hot (July). The only thing is you need to look out for broken glass in some places. I wouldn't take a large trailer or rig there, but a small one could work. Peace and quiet in the Canyon of the Ancients National Monument!
