Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 05, 2023We spent several weeks in Cortez Colorado working with a client in Mancos. We've stayed at La Mesa before, just forgot to review it here.
La Mesa is a small family owned and operated RV park right on the edge of downtown Cortez Colorado. A short trip into town (Walmart, Safeway, City Market), only 8 miles from Mesa Verde National park, and 45 minutes from Hovenweep National Monument, and a little under an hour to Durango.
We work from the road, and connectivity is always a concern. This little park has some of the fastest Wi-Fi I've ever seen at an RV Park. Sad to leave their Wi-Fi behind!
This isn't a resort, no swimming pools or hot tubs. It's a cute little in town park. Half the spaces are back ins, and half are HUGE pull throughs. Big rigs can definitely fit in at this park.

Easy access to MVNP and downtown Cortez. Sharri was very accommodating and professional. Park itself is no frills, but easy to access. Large pull through sites. No extraneous noise. Will stay again when we visit. also, UTE mountain Casino about 20 minutes south has nightly specials. Worth the drive if you are into that type of thing.

Price of $21 reflects the Passport America rate.
I had great service from the front desk at La Mesa - friendly and efficient. The price with Passport America is right for a one-night stop to dump the tanks and top up on water/electricity.
Sites are very close together in this gravel lot. There are back in and huge pull through sites for the big rigs. The setup is such that we couldn't hook up water, electric, and sewer at the same time (we do not carry an extra-long sewer pipe, and sewer is inexplicably on the other end of the campsite from water and electric).
Wifi is super fast with a powerful signal. Each table has a picnic table squeezed in, but no spare room beyond that. Showers were chilly.
The campground is located close to downtown, and also close to a variety of big grocery stores. It backs up to a car wash and gas station, so gets some ambient noise at night.

We came rolling in here after 4 corners was closed on arrival, and a BLM site had failed us. The camp host was super friendly, given the late hour, and was quick to help us get registered. The site was clean, hook ups were great, and the facilities were very clean. The hot water did run short on me, but I woke up a little late. Great park and friendly people. The park is located very close to all the stores, which was great for our needs. Also, the wi-fi was FANTASTIC!!!

Based out of here for Four Corners, Trail of the Ancients and of course Mesa Verde. A pretty basic RV park. Respectable, with no frills.

We were here in the spring of 2017, nice young woman greeted us, and directed us to out site, they just had done some site improvements, so we had a perfect spot. We did not use any of the facilities, so no comment on that. Close to downtown, and right next to a convenience store of you need a few things.

3 Stars=we'd stay here again, but only if it was late and we couldn't find a better place
Pros: Location, hookups, level, nice staff...and yes, some of the nicest bathrooms we've seen
Cons: Only thing close is Mesa Verde, Terrible WiFi & Verizon [for us]
We stayed here because of location, prior ratings & needed to tap internet for work. Cell phone & data reception were between 0-2 bars, lots of dropped calls. Data was just as bad. Wifi was OK...until folks started showing up, then it too became very intermittent. If that doesn't matter to you, then this is a real nice place.

Our site backed up to a gas station with a car wash that was used more than I think I’ve ever seen a car wash used before in my life. The noise was annoying at first, but we got used to it. The laundry was fine, nothing special. Close proximity to Mesa Verde.
We actually stayed here because of good reviews on WiFi and cell service. I have to say that I don’t agree with either of those reviews (even with a cell booster). ATT and Verizon struggled (especially in the evenings, weekdays mid-day were better, but video conferencing was near impossible and my wife had to “phone in” a few times) and the WiFi upload speed was generally less than 1 Mbps, download was a tad faster, but not by much. It was decent WiFi as far as RV parks go, but not enough to make up for the spotty cell service.

We stayed here on the passport America rate. We were in the back of the park where it was incredibly quiet.
The lot sizes are large very big rig friendly and very clean.
Great base camp location for exploring all of the amazing things in this area of the country.

Pictures are somewhat deceiving. Our spkt was in the back corner (at least it felt somewhat more private), which backs onto the shipping/receiving area of an abandoned department store and the only separation is a low wire fence. Not necessarily a safety issue just doesnt give a great feeling and an eye sore.
Wi-Fi was okay at best. Only one laundry set available.
We had the passport america price ($20) which js only valid for one night. We asked if they could stretch it to 2 nights, they said no and I wasnt willing to pay $37 which is the Good Sam discou t price.
