Ratings Summary
As the previous reviewer stated, this DNR campground caters to the ORV crowd. Yes, dirt bikes and ORV transit the campground, and the off roaders are supposed to leave and enter the RV park directly and stay under the speed limit. Of course, there was a couple punks on the loudest possible dirt bikes that simply could not follow the rules and raced around the camp sites. Shame people have to be stupid, but anyway on to the RV park. This is what I will call a premier DNR facility, free of course with your Discover Pass. Stays are limited to 5 days, I'll bet I can guess why. The sites are spread out, graveled and in a word, perfect. There are pull through sites like I have never seen, they ask you to occupy with 2 groups each, you could probably fit 4. They are simply huge. Also, the sites for disabled campers are exceptional. Bathrooms spotless and stocked. I was able to get good solar with my mobile panels. Only negative, other than stupid people was the utter lack of any cell signal, it's a dead zone and there is nothing to boost. Sherry Creek is kinda in between Colville and Ione, more toward Ione. The climb in from Colville side is the advisable way to go if you are dragging a big rig. The Ione side is steep with switchbacks. Plenty of great fishing around, the great scenic Tiger Highway, Crystal Falls etc. 5 star place, don't want to ding for the ding bats on dirt bikes. Oh, water was off but I never count on that. Just call DNR if you want to see if it's on. The camp host is not there either, too early I guess.
