This campground is part of the Thousand Trails network which we were members of for a year. I think you can book a spot here even if you're not a member though. Either way, it's a really nice campground. They have a lot of land and have spread things out, so you don't feel like you're crammed in. There are plenty of nice places to walk, pretty hiking trails, and the Colorado River runs right through the campground. Our site was spacious, level, and offered full hook-ups. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There isn't much to see or do in the area, but if you're driving across Texas on I-10, it's a solid place to stop for a couple days.

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night. That night was particularly cloudy and cold. We would like to have spent more time here to enjoy the activities but we were in a hurry to get to warmer weather. The campground had some hurricane damage while we were there but most of the park is back up and running. They are also actively working on the remaining repairs.

We did also have an issue with the water spigot but we notified the office so they could have it fixed.

We liked that the bathrooms were clean and had spacious showers. We loved that they are a pet friendly park with a dog run. The staff was friendly and the wildlife was even friendlier. There aren't too many RV parks that have deer come to greet you, snow white style.

We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

We choose this park as it's part of Thousand Trails which we are members, hence the low cost of camping ( it's ($$) in the dues). Been wanting to explore the state of Texas since we've never spent time here in our almost 40 years of marriage.
Planning on doing our laundry when we get there... was our mistake. You see they have limited sites with sewer and the limit had been met before we arrived. So we spent 2 nights on a water and 30 amp site only. It was nice, had a large area to the side and back we could run our pup (long leash). But, no sewer so the dirty laundry had to wait. The 30 amps were a little less robust too then what we typically experience (50 amp is our desire and setup). On more than one occasion our surgeguard didn't like what was coming through so disconnected us from the shore power all together. So...that's what they make generators for. It's unfortunate when you have to run your generator while in an RV park. Ah, but after two nights there was a full hook up site with 50 amp available and that served us "Roughing it Smoothly" camper's very well. That site wasn't as roomy but this park has nice two track trails that provide lots of opportunities for long quite walks with pup in tow (or we in tow at times, lol). The staff was friendly and not so busy that they ignored you ( Although I'm sure that happens at times when they are overwhelmed and understaffed).
Several of their sites along the river were ruined with the advent of hurricane Harvey. Also, the bathhouse is still being repaired as it took a hit too.
Our experience in general with Thousand Trails is their moving toward annual campers who pay to stay for the season and the nomadic traveler (which they were originally all about) is just to fill in and not given as much in choice or options. Most of the parks are in sad need of upkeep, maintenance and updating but apparently the owner (Equity Lifestyle Properties) feels less of a need. Time will tell.
Our Verizon coverage was good. Speed test this AM was download 17.86 Mbps and upload 12.64 Mbps. We do not have any kind of booster just a WiFi hotspot with a small antenna suction cupped to a window in our RV.

Situated about an hour west of Houston on the banks of the Colorado river, this park held some unexpected, charming surprises. It’s spacious, quite, semi-remote with good ATT 4G which met the needs of our internet based business. Sites are large, filled with grassy meadows, and nestled under the largest pecan trees I’ve ever seen! Outdoor courts were nice, pool was nice. Hot tub was quaint, but did the job! They love their Saturday night potluck and hot dog BBQ. the pace at this park is slow. It’s the sort of place you go to to feel things growing around you. The river is georgeous with great fishing. A very pleasant delight. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

About 13 to 14 miles from the town of Columbus. Easy to find. Our arrival was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly. The showers where spacious and clean, some of the best I have ever seen. We loved the big hot tube that was indoors. It was cold an rainy a big part of the time we spent there. We started out at a site down by the river but with all the rain we decided to move up the hill. Much better internet and phone service up there. We got around 40 TV channels up there also. The walking trails and the deer where our favorite things. The sites where nice and level. Giovanni our Maltese like the dog park that was nice green grass and clean. Can't wait to spend more time there. We are members of Thousand Trails and we have enjoyed many of their parks.

Yes, there's not a lot of space between spots like there are in most state parks, but the residents are quiet. We had space D25 which is on the outside of the big loop by the river and boat ramp. Lots of space on the door side to the next unit, and nature behind us.

When they talk about deer being everywhere, they ain't kidding. And watch where you walk in the grass, the deer left presents.

Very friendly staff, and the couple of other campers we talked to were very nice. Being a Thousand Trails property, there was no loud music or rowdy camps.

They have free WiFi. It's reception is spotty, sometimes great, sometimes bad. Supposed to be better up by the activity center.

AT&T reception is LTE and varies by location and time. I had 1 bar to 4 bars at the same spot throughout the day.

Visited the Colorado River RV Resort in Columbus, Texas, and the reservation sure has a ranch like feel. Deer and Armadillo abound. The restrooms above the D-Loop look new. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 6.89 Mbps download speed and 10.0 Mbps upload speed. AT&T clocked in at 45.1 Mbps download speed and 7.44 Mbps upload speed. On the downside the hot tub looks terrible and is not in service, and the water and electric sites opposite the river are in need of some sort of pad, gravel or otherwise. The soft grass sites turn into a mud trap during periods of steady rain. We were told the flood last year washed out much of the existing gravel pads.

One of the better TT CGs out there so far. I enjoyed my stay here and plan to return. Lots and lots of deer. Very quiet and nice sunsets. Staff was super nice. Didn't like the $5 fee to receive packages but such is life at TT sometimes. There is a charge for 50 Amp service also but I opted out. The river is nearby at the end of the CG. TMobile and Verizon as reported had good service. ATT was not supposed to but I did test it near the end of my stay and it was actually faster than the other too with 66 MBPs down and 40 up. Must be a new antenna or something.
Not much nearby. One grocery store and the produce had seen better days. A couple of fast food places on the interstate and on my last night there I found a nice Mexican restaurant Los Cabos I think was the name. Large servings so expect to order on entree for 2 people or take a bunch home with you. Possibly my favorite of all the TT parks I have been to so far.

Simple, quiet, and spacious country setting. Not only are the RV sites roomy but the campground as a whole has a lot of wide open space. Less sites than the typical Thousand Trails park which is great because it doesn't feel like a crowded RV city. And like many TT parks you can tell this one is pretty old but I was surprised at how nice and clean the newer bathrooms are. Half the sites don't have sewer hookup so unless you get lucky don't expect to land one when you arrive, but you can always get on a waiting list when you check in. I hate setting up twice so I went without. Verizon signal was super strong. Not much going on in the area but there's a Walmart and H-E-B about 10-15 minutes away.
