There is a swimming area, Dump station, and most spots have water/electric. There is a section over near the dam for those big rigs to pull through. The older section has great spots, but some are narrow, so be aware when backing in. Mid week, you frequently have the park to yourself. There are screened cabins and a playground. Close to Coleman, where you can run in for groceries, a couple eating places, including Rancho Loma Pizza, which is fantastic. Water levels depend on rainfall, so call and check if you're wanting to boat. Some of the bathhouses are older, but all are kept clean.
There is a great playground and two swimming areas with nice beaches. Dock, and boat ramps. Take bikes, there are nice LONG roads. No hiking, but long roads! There are campground hosts who are helpful.

We stayed here for a few days for a very relaxing time. The park was not full at all until the weekend and even then there was plenty of open sites. The sites were kept clean and are spacious. We stayed in an electric/water site but most sites also had sewer. There were deer everywhere which was nice to see. The restrooms were ok but could use a bit more attention. The only downside to this park was there was zero Verizon reception. We got no reception until almost into Abilene. The library in town offers free WiFi so we went in there one day to take care of done things on line. Owls drug store in town also offers free WiFi to customers and they had a great breakfast.

We stayed here one night and paid $16 for a walk up site. Lucky, we were told, as this is spring break week. The two people in the office were extremely nice to us!!
We enjoyed a nice sized, level site of gravel that had been raked beautifully. The site was lake side with a nice view. There are two dump stations here, and restrooms which we did not use.
Beautiful place to stay for one night but no cell (Verizon) or Internet. Zero.

Nice campground and lake. Deer wanding around. Shade, large sites, plenty of open space. Too many dead gnats in the bathroom/shower. Great deal for elec and water (and access to dump station) for $16.

The park did not have many in It on a Tuesday. I have this section all to myself. The grounds are well kept and the shore around the lake is easy to get to.

This campground is a gem! Nice large sites that all seem fairly level and many are full hookup. Nice views and lots of wildlife. Great cell service with ATT.
One thing to note: there is only one entrance to the park even though the highway signs on the road indicate otherwise. Look for the open entrance close to the big white water tower - it shows as Day Use picnic area but does also have a large COE sign.

LOVED this campground! Such a peaceful, quiet, well kept COE campground. This is my new favorite campground and we will hopefully be visiting again. When we visited in February the number of campers was sparse. We had the whole loop to ourselves. The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 70’s. We biked around the whole reservoir which was delightful. The sky at night was amazing filled with millions of stars. Our campsite (#58) was right on the water and it was a huge level site. Many if not most of the sites were either on the water or had a water view. Every site was shared with beautiful trees and a shelter over the picnic table. Because we have the senior park pass our site was only $8. We drove into Coleman to access WiFi and cell service at the local chamber of commerce right on Commercial St. (Only downside to this campground, no Verizon service) Super friendly people at the Chamber and very helpful. Gave us access to their wifi for as long as we needed it. Really cute town with a lot of interesting stores. If you are ever in this part of Texas plan on spending at least a couple days here, you won’t be disappointed!

We picked this park as our maiden voyage in our new (to us) RV and can’t imagine a better experience. Our site was a short walk to the lake (would have been an even shorter walk but the lake was low). We were there in early Feb 2021 and there was only one other camper on our loop. It was quite and beautiful, which is exactly why we are getting into the RV lifestyle. Lots of pull through sites that could accommodate our 40 ft. 5th wheel. Just watch out for the limbs above your site if you have a tall rig. We would definitely stay here again.

Proper entrance is the easternmost, with the site water tank. Gate was unattended and we had an online reservation so we proceeded to our site. A camp host flagged us down and got our name and said to come and pick up our vehicle when we were ready. Friendly couple working the gate.
The loop we were on was pretty quiet. There are only about 6 sites along there, sharing a bathhouse. Do watch the trees, we had some marked at our site so I'm guessing trimming will be happening soon. The loops by the dam do have pipe along the road - I could see that being a challenge for backing in.
The lake is low, the sunset was great, the walking was awesome. Unfortunately it was blowing pretty hard during or stay so the bikes remained on the rack.
As for internet/cell (ATT)...ummm..... the internet stopped on occasion, especially in the evenings. I had a work call that got dropped during the mid morning. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.
