We stayed in early April for our first RV trip of the year and had fun. We typically stay at State Parks only so it was a different experience. It was very busy that weekend and every spot was booked. The playground area was partially under construction and there is almost no tree/bush cover between RV sites but those are the only two drawbacks I can think of. The maintenance crew and staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good fishing area. I would stay again for a last minute RV trip where the state parks are booked.

What a great find, Due to the State Parks being unavailable, I had to search for alternatives and found this park. It was much nicer than I had anticipated and I will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here along with three other couples. Three of the sites were adjacent to each other, so there was quite a bit of shared space. There are three circular loops (1 - 30) that are at the front of the park. While some of the spaces are close together, there are many that have large green spaces behind them. We were able to set up two Clam portable shelters between our trailer and the next and there was still plenty of room. There were trees for shade in many of the sites, but not all.
Due to Covid-19, the full hookup sites were the only ones available. We scoped out some of the closed sites (31-50) along the water that had only water and electric. They would be great for folks that enjoy fishing as the back right up to the water. The only drawback I could see was they would be in direct sunlight each morning.
There was another loop with full hookups next to the lake (53-68). They looked great for fishing, but didn't have as much green space as the loops 1-30. However, once again, they back up to the lake, so there was lots of fishing going on.
There is an upper loop with only water and electricity (sites 81-97). They didn't seem to be as well taken care of as the other loops, but had more trees and shade. They did not, however, have a view of the lake. Still, they would be a nice place to camp with either a small trailer or tents.
Cell phone reception (Verizon) was good, but the LTE data was only around 1 Mbps.
I can't vouch for the showers as they were closed and I didn't check out the bathrooms, which were limiting the number of persons who could use them.

This Park is on the edge of being a 5 STAR park...

Site 62 12 ft wide concrete parking pad level
Moveable wooden and metal picnic table on concrete pad

Roped off lake swimming area
Small playground near swimming area
CONS
Paid $3.50 reservation fee for completing 100% on-line reservation
On Day #2 of our stay, a neighbor camper came to us to inform us that the park manager just stopped by his site (we were at our site and saw him) to let him know there was a burn ban established for the next 7 days and that he need to spread the word to other campers. Two days later we saw a small burn ban sign posted at the toilet/shower facility. Communicating this crucial information needs improved. Perhaps posting signs throughout the park, especially at the entrance.
Trip hazard on the picnic table concrete where someone cut the chains that held the table in place
Numerous dogs roaming…no leash and no human
Absolutely no privacy from any other campsite as there is no vegetation between campsites
No evening trash pickup so have to store trash created by evening cooking
Gate was not closed overnight
Camp store and water craft rental closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
No wildlife sightings
No park WIFI
No camp hosts
3 bars TMOBILE in A3 campground with no problems live-streaming with TMOBILE hotspot device

what a beautiful place…….the staff here are wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful. the store on site is well stocked with essentials, beer and wine and best of all Ice cream. we landed here at spring break so lots of kids having so much fun, lots of giggles….weather has been great first day very warm, then cooled down no more A/C. full hook up sights are great, lots of grass, there are sights that are nearer the water, which have great views of the lake. Boat Launch, swimming area, playground definitely family friendly….small groceries store in Coldsprings very nice. over all this is a place to visit often when passing through this part of Texas.

Campground with a marina. No hiking trails. All back in sites. Good mobile phone service. Park run by utility company. Well manicured, most RV sites don’t have a lot of shade. Stayed in site 68A, needed to level about 4 inches side to side. Some sites have a bit of a steep driveway to back up, but pad isn’t too bad. Not all sites have sewer hookups. Sites are a bit close to each other but are angled enough to make it where your not staring at the RV/Camper next to you. Great location for fishing / boating.
