Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 25, 2021We found numerous spots and settled by the creek to be rewarded by buffalo, fox, and nearby bighorn sheep. Alas the local grizzly bear avoided us, but the host assures us they are frequent visitors. (Hard sided campers only allowed in this area and bear spray reccomended!) it was a beautiful drive into the park ... And equally beautiful to Cody! We would return! Trash, pit toliets, bear boxes, hand pumped water (a bit greenish and no hookups) and a pleasant host!! We felt safe leaving Lucille while we roamed! The noise of the creek was lovely and drowned out road noise.

Great campground. It is close to road, but also right on river. $15 is a great price. Very clean and all campers were quiet.the closest campground to the East entrance that was open.

This is a typical park/host location. $15 sites are workable to level the rig. No frills, water, garbage, personal security to leave the rig over the day time. This site is nice due to the fact it's closer to Yellowstone. We had a nice conversation with a ranger but didn't see the host once.

This is a first come first served campground. It really only cost us $7.50 because we have an Access pass. You are boondocking but the sites are beautiful.

Bisson and deer in the campground. Large sites with privacy and good spacing. Water is from a pump no threaded so bring your own. Peaceful. Great location for Yellow Stone. Nice camp host. Enjoyed our stay. Tables and fire rings far enough from camper to keep smoke out of your rig. Our35 foot fit easily. River running on the side with several sites facing it. No cell service within 15 miles towards Cody.

I have never had a bad host before. We arrived Thursday at 4:30 pm filled out our payment for site 11 and then headed to Yellowstone. We got back to the campsite around 9:30 and decided we wanted to stay another night as there was so much to see in Yellowstone. We filled out another slip for the next night, Friday. The next morning we got up at 4:30 am so we could get to Yellowstone before sunrise and see all the animals first thing as well as beat the crowds. After a lovely day we headed back to our site at 9:30 again to discover our site taken. The camp host first said we had not paid. I told him we had and obviously he could check the tube. Then he said we had not spent the night. I explained we had. He said no one saw us so we had not. I explained the times and then he said it was our fault because we did not leave anything in the site. We never leave stuff and the ticket on the post is all we need to leave. Finally he told us he had a smaller site available. No apologies just a bad attitude.

We work remotely and with that said, 1 review reported 4 bars of verizon 4g. No other review documented any cell service. We also have both Weboost RV 65 and Drive X RV. Unable to zero in on any cell service or cell antennas.
The campground looked fantastic. It was about a 24 mile drive in from Cody on 14. Would have loved to stay. Ended up going to the BLM off of spirit road.

While staying at another nearby campground, we drove through this one to check if we could fit with our 35' fifth wheel. Of all the campgrounds along this route between the East Entrance of Yellowstone and Cody, this was one of the better ones with nice wide access roads, long pull through and back in sites and a variety of shaded and full sun. Definitely will pick this campground when we return to the area. This is close to the highway, but all the campgrounds along this corridor are. Highway noise is not bad at all and completely quiets down at night.

We stayed here 3 nights the first week of October. It was a great little campground pretty close to the East entrance of Yellowstone. During the season, the cost is $15 but our stay was free because it was considered off season and there were no amenities. No trash pickup and the water was turned off, but we’re used to this kind of camping, so no big deal. We camp in a 6x12 CCT, but there were big rigs and tents. The camp is right along the beautiful Shoshone River. This campground closes October 15.
