“40miles east of Salt Lake City”

Holiday Hills RV Park is located in Coalville, Utah just off I-80 at exit 162. Our RV Park is rated with both the Family Motor Coach Association and The Good Sam Club. We are 40 miles east of Salt Lake City. If you are coming from the east, we are 38 miles west of Evanston, Wyoming on I-80. A river runs past us with some of the best fly fishing in Utah. The nearby Union Pacific rail trail provides hiking and biking through the valley and into neighboring Park City (host to the 2002 winter olympics). Stay with us and fill your lungs with clean mountain air that you will always remember. Lay under a quiet star lit night. They're brighter out here where the air is pure and city lights at a minimum.

We tried to find something cheaper in the Park City area because we were going to be there for 2 1/2 weeks. For $195 a week, it wasn't too bad. It was a 20 minute drive to Kimball Junction. It
was also across the highway from the Rail Trail and the reservoir is about 1.5 miles down the road.

However, the positives end there. It's right behind a gas station that is busy and loud. The sites are small and cramped. They are all pull through horse shoes(ish). You have people walking through your campsites and the RV right behind you. The road right next to you and sprinklers going off on your outdoor chairs.

The biggest negative to me were their "amenities." They had bathrooms and laundry. Now that might not seem too bad BUT it's in the same room pretty much. You go in one door and women go to the left and men go to the right. No doors you can close or lock behind you. If you go two steps forward there is the laundry. AND sometimes the lock on the door is broken so you can just walk in. I would not use the restrooms. While we never felt unsafe, it wasn't safe.

While a decent stay for a week, it was a lot driving to and from Park City, having people go through your site daily and the noise from the gas station 24/7 was not worth the cheaper price tag.

We were on our way home to Western Wyoming and need a place to stop for one night. This facility was an easy hop from I 84.
I will cut them some slack given that the snow has just melted and they may not have had the opportunity to clean up the grounds.
The facility is pretty run down, old poorly designed bathrooms and small sites. This does not excuse the unclean condition of the bathrooms, showers and laundry.
For the price you should receive more. Unless you are really tired, or have some other pressing problem, take two salt tablets and drive on.

This park is a Good Sam member so I got a discount. The lady checking us in was nice, the office is in the Phillips 66 gas station store. I immediately noticed when being shown to our spot the grass has not been mowed yet, pretty tall! Our concrete pad had dirt and some kind of tree leaves all over it. So park grounds maintenance does not seem to be a priority. Smelly cattle pasture just across the creek😒. I will pass next time.

Update to the review I did after staying for a few hours because we left the same night. During our stay we had people partying the next site over and they kept walking through our spot and had 2 dogs not on leashes who kept bothering our dog who was on a leash. After complaining to the host who spoke with them we got verbally attacked and one guy wanted to fight me but the host did nothing about it! So feeling unsafe I demand my money back and put this dump in my rear view mirror.

This is a popular place and is in a very nice setting. But it was not good for us at all.

We called and they were nice and got us a last moment spot for the night. The check in is at a small store and a nice young lady checked us in. John waived is Into our spot and he was nice too.

The above were all good and we appreciated their help.

But for us the rest made this a bad experience and we will not be back. We believe Covid is real. Up to you on how you believe. The nice lady had a fake clip on that said she was exempt
From mask wearing because of some unstated medical condition. Not a good start. She went through a long list of rules that included all the ways we could get thrown out. She noted that I (a 72 year old guy) Should not get into any fights with other campers and should report any bad behavior to the camp host or the store. This seemed odd.

John directed us into a absurdly set up spot where the power posts are along the roadway every 50 feet or so and you need to swerve behind them onto the camp pad. I had given them accurate info on our size. He had us pull close to the rear of a large class A. It left us just enough room to pull out if we could clear the power post and I think we
Might have. A few moments later the owner of the class A apparently believed we were in his spot and came back with his family and pulled at
An angle between our truck and the rear of his class A with his toad. About three feet from our bumper. John was
Still hanging around chatting with a long term fellow on our other side. He noted the problem and attitude issue. He assured
Me he would have the fellow move his jeep so we could get out in the morning

Well he never did and of course the store was closed in the morning. We managed to back up and wiggle out. But I got why the instructions were no fighting.

The place is an old design and a lot of the spaces are not suited for a 30 foot trailer with truck. Again, both John
And the store lady were very nice. But I guess they get a challenging group of campers of the layout which is very crowded and awkward makes people territorial. Also I was out about 9 pm on last dog walk for the day on property where a poor man decided to come out of a bush area in the dark and silently approach me from behind. I don’t think he meant any harm but I don’t know that. It was just weird. My dog heard him and let him know it was not ok.

We were up before dawn, skipped food and hit the road.

We stayed at Echo for 7 weeks and needed one extra weekend night to charge up, dump, and fill to prep for boondocking. The camp host was helping us dump at the gas station and mentioned he had a couple spots open. (MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND LAST MINUTE!) we were so grateful to get a spot so we booked. Spots are SUPER close together and driving through the small park is stressful. Spots are paved with grassy areas. Directly behind a gas station so lots of traffic noise. Laundry on site but we didn’t use it. It had hookups we needed and everyone around was friendly. There is a river walk, a nice bridge, and the grass is decently maintained. We are full-timers and definitely would not choose this as a long-term stay.

Spaces are tight but the last loop next to the creek is best: sites 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38. Grass, trees and a Mountain View.
BYO fire pit otherwise no fire allowed. Picnic tables and full hookups at every site. This was a great overnight stop for us. I would not recommend for more than 2 nights due to noise and crowding.
Clean and well maintained.

Would stay here again if we had to, but it's really not our style. The camp host, John, was kind and welcoming. He showed us to our site and helped us pull in. The positive aspects of this park are the trees, shade and location right next to a beautiful river. We may have had the best site in the park as the river was flowing about 20 yards from our RV with nothing but grass and shade trees in-between. I regretted not packing a fishing pole!! There is a gas station at the entrance to the park, offering diesel, regular, and free air. Gas prices were competitive for the area. What we didn't care for was the pull-over site. The road was narrow and pretty much everyone on our side of the park had to drive past us to get to/from their pull-over site. We did not extend our slides. The site pad was level concrete but had many cracks, so not smooth. The restrooms, showers and laundry room were just OK. We chose not to use them. There were several long-term or permanent RV residents in the park and the ground skirting and older RVs didn't help the parks appearance. Overall, this is a nice park for $38/night.

Full hookups took care of our needs. Well maintained park with a small creek going past our site, and a river on the other side of a large grassy area. Large shady trees. Park camp hosts are terrific. Rates are very reasonable. Reservations can be made on-line. Very modest 24hr cancellation policy. A refreshing place to visit. Will definitely be back.
