We arrived on a Sunday around 18:30. Turned In where there is an express area to eat. Many signs saying NoTruck Parking and No Parking period.
We went down to the regular parking area for the restaurant and saw 6 RV’s parked taking up numerous single parking sites. Stopped and spoke to a man who had been here numerous times. He told us there was no access to the dirt road in the back. Saw a huge sign saying that a RV PARK coming December 2023.
We took our dogs for a walk on the dirt road as it was easy to walk through the hedge and trees. Discovered that you could enter that dirt road if you turned in past the last hedge after the hotel. We moved back there, no one else came. You can make a loop that goes up and around. The road in has a few small potholes but if you go slow it’s no problem.
Is was very quiet, there was a dirt road through the pecan orchard where we walked our dogs. They were putting up a solar area nearby and showed up the next day.

This was very good for a one-night stop. I drove in to the main hotel parking lot, which was like a courtyard-type setting. It felt very safe. Security and staff were routinely driving through the lot. There were a few other RVs there, too. I got food from the express BBQ, which was actually at the Shell station next to the “resort.” The food was very good, and it looked like there may be more parking available in that area in a dirt lot. The only issue I had, which was totally out of anybody’s control, was having the RV windows open while, at one point, the winds must’ve shifted and blown very strong cow odor our way.
It didn’t last too long and was fine afterward, but, without running AC, and the weather being warm, we briefly wondered if we needed to leave. I stayed and the odor cleared up. Everything was good and I left in the morning.

We found this on the app by accident and ended up pulling over for dinner and a rest. What a cool surprise! Fancy dinner and wine, Country Store full of gifts and fun items, coffee stop, food to go, and more. Wish I had purchased the seasoning and marinade. We decided not to stay overnight but will check out the RV Park when it is built end of 2023.

Yes they allow free parking in between the hotel and the restaurant. Relatively quiet and secure location with regular security patrols. Quite a few other RVs here while we were. Tried out the Express BBQ takeout, it was expensive and not all that good but I still think people should support the business in exchange for a free stay. The Shell gas station prices were outrageously high so I recommend fueling up elsewhere.

I've become a regular here. It's easy to get off and stay here. They welcome RV parking. There is some space in the paved parking lot between the hotel and the restaurant, but honestly, it's best if you can get into the auxiliary parking behind the bushes that line the back of the paved lot. It's quiet and no traffic noise. You have to know how to get there or let a security patrol know that you want to get back there and they can open the gate for you at the hotel end. There is ample space behind the gas station, but this can be blocked off during busy travel times (i.e. holidays) as extra parking for travelers during business hours.
The BBQ joint in the gas station store is great. There's a family deal for $100 which works great for my family, although you do need to pick up no later than 8pm, I think, so it's not for the late arriving people.
Gas is rather expensive here, but I try to fill up since they are letting me use the space for free.

Great free parking lot with plenty of room and 24-hour security. This sure beats Wal-Mart or a truck stop! No hookups, but the area felt very safe, and was quiet overnight.
If you're not familiar with Harris Ranch, it's a sizeable hotel, restaurant, and gas station that even boasts its own airport. The restaurant is great for any meal and the staff is really helpful (I had to mail a package before we hit the road and they provided me with packaging and an stamp, free of charge).
For anyone traveling from Northern California/SF Bay Area, this makes a great half-way point if you're headed to the southern part of the state.

We stayed here February 2015, dry camping (boondocking) in a 30 ft gas Class A with towed after we called the Inn to confirm we could boondock in the parking lot that's between the restaurant and the inn. Not only did they say Yes, there is a designated (with signs) area specifically for RV overnight parking! It is located in the very back of the parking lot - just look for the posted signs for RV parking. To approach the overnight area, it might be easier to drive behind the restaurant, using the delivery lane/driveway that semis use to drop off restaurant supplies. As there's no reservations, you'll take your chance to find room as it's first-come-first-served. It's quiet with lots of trees, situated enough off the highway to minimize the traffic noise. We stayed one night and we slept well. The restaurant is actually a facility with a formal ($$$$) dining room where we spent top dollar to dine on Harris Ranch's famous steaks (yum!). It also has a very nice sports bar, a family cafe ($$$ - great breakfast menu), and a wonderful bakery with many baked-on-site items. Oh, and a sweet shop (candy). For many years we've purchased Harris Ranch beef products in grocery stores so dining here was a Bucket List item for us. We were pleasantly surprised to learn self-contained, dry camping RVers were warmly welcomed. Our Verizon 3G cell service at 3 bars was strong for checking email via our hotspot. We didn't ask anyone at Harris Ranch Inn and Restaurant about WiFi as we didn't need it for one night. We will definitely dry camp here again for an overnight, but spend less at the restaurant. Needless to say, our free boondocking site cost us "mucho dinero" because we chose to have drinks at the bar then we dined on quality prime rib and filet mignon in the dining room (no dress code, but we cleaned up and wore our best blue jeans). The next morning, we had a farm-fresh breakfast in the family cafe'. Regrets? None. Worth it? Absolutely. For horse lovers, 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome was foaled at the ranch's horse division, and the Harris Ranch staff proudly talk about him if you ask.

This was a good spot for us to stop while passing thru on our way to LA. You are allowed to park rigs in the back of the parking lot. It is a nice area, the hotel and restaurant are both upper class and pricey. We broke down and got some bakery goods from the gift shop, just to good to pass up. The cell service was good here, but was kind of busy the day we were there and not to much privacy.

This is parking lot overnighting at its best. Harris Ranch is really welcoming to RVers stopping in for the night to catch some rest, and it's close to the highway but far enough that highway noise isn't bothersome. Parking lot is well lit and monitored by security, which is comforting. Nice to have restrooms nearby, and they had free wifi that was really fast that could be accessed right from the parking lot! Cell reception was great as well, both Verizon and AT&T tested.
Of course, this is parking lot camping, so we stayed self-contained and kept to ourselves and were on our way first thing in the morning (after having breakfast at Harris Ranch). Important to maintain courtesy so places like this will continue to let RVers overnight here.
