We have stayed here several times. The owners have been working hard to improve the place. They are gravel, level, and cement patios. The camp has different sites/rates but none of them are without a view! The location is west of Canon City and East of the Royal Gorge. The number of entertainment opportunities are plentiful. Very big rig friendly! Here is a link to their promo video: https://youtu.be/Wp-n6W9Pivc it was made in 2014 so it will not have all the great improvements they have made. This is a super clean park with some spacious sites available, but you'll pay premium prices for them. There are also a lot of rules. The girl in the office was new and didn't tell us we had to have help getting into our site, and then their workamper got a little nasty with us about pulling in without him. He went off about how the owner was "watching on video," that he "watched everything," and how we were going to get him in trouble. The rest of our stay I couldn't help but feel like we were being watched, which totally creeped me out. We'd drive on through and go to the state parks in Salida next time - cheaper, prettier, and friendlier.

Park and spaces are very clean with crushed granite parking areas and concrete patio and a fire ring. Very close to Royal Gorge Bridge and about 7 miles to CaƱon. Spent a week here, and would come back. Staff was very friendly and helpful in getting us to our space and showing all the amenities. Great WiFi

Sites are all level gravel thatās nice and thick. Each spot has a very nice concrete patio with metal fire rings and separated by split rail fence. Bath houses are clean and newer as well as laundry. WiFi is great. Nice dog area but not fenced. There are some sites you can purchase that are available.
Lots of things to do nearby including Royal Gulch, prison museum, wineries, rafting etc. Stores are all about ten minutes away.

Stayed 2 nights here. Camped with my wife, 2 kids and 2 dogs. Had a pleasant stay during the COVID era, it was nice that we were able to find a place that was open. Nothing negative to say about this campsite. Very clean, level sites and staff was friendly. A couple things to make it 5 stars would be to have a fenced in dog park area and a playground, they have a swing set and that was it. Didnāt get to go fishing, but this spot is close to the river and other activities.

The pictures don't do it justice. Yes, it's largely gravel with a few grassy areas and young trees, but this place is really special.
There is a nice store at the front, and they have someone on a golf cart take you to your site. They do this at other campgrounds, but then they usually leave you. Not this place! I've never had someone stick around to help me find the perfect place in my site, basically spotting me in. The guy made sure I had everything I needed, and he even washed down the picnic table before he left. Then he brought us firewood later in the evening. Full service!
The sites are all very level, with a nice cement pad next to you. We never had to wear shoes, as the place was spotless. There were nice fire rings at every site, and lots of space for everyone.
This park even has spots you can own and design how you like. A few of the spots had big trees, permanent covers over patio tables, and other things to make them nice. It really made you think about staying longer in Canyon City.
It's really close to the Royal Gorge Bridge and the town of Canon City, which is handy. There is a bit of noise from the highway as it's fairly close, but that is the only drawback. I really look forward to staying here again.

We pulled in just as it was getting dark on a Saturday. We had planned to boondock but sites were full and Canon City s not friendly to RVs staying overnight (Walmart, sports stores, etc). We were just passing through on a cross country trip of mostly boondocking, and actually didn't mind one night of full hook-ups. The staff was super friendly and met us at the office even though they don't accept new reservations after dark. The park was neat and tidy with mostly big rigs, some permanent residents. They are only accepting fully contained RVs because their bathrooms are closed due to Covid (as of Sept 2020). There were some campers playing music later into the night than necessary, otherwise a nice setup and experience.

The new owners have done a great job with the campground. Plus the staff were outstanding. We had a dog food shipment delivered without issue. Site 8 was a lovey pad and picnic table with a nice westerly sunset views. Some of the less money site were close together. Verizon and att cell phones were marginal for phone calls and less helpful with FaceTime. Our t-mobile hotspot was āroamingā and useless. Canon City is a short drive with great food and all the necessary supplies. Next time through we would stay for sure.
