Definitely for smaller rigs only but easily gotten too even with 2WD on dry days. It is a no-frills campground for those that just have to have a fire pit, toilet, and picnic table. Other than that it offers nothing new to the huge expanse that is available for you to camp in the larger BLM area of Rabbit Valley.
Unfortunately, because of the crowd this campground sometimes attracts (weekender off-roaders) and the fact that they need their mommies to clean up after them, this campground was pretty dirty on my visit. The decision to stay elsewhere down the road was made, partially for that reason.

Excellent free camping for my 28 foot Class C, perfect Verizon wifi and cell, beautiful view. If I had a Class A I might have been leery of driving in on the extremely lumpy, bumpy road. I did 5 miles per hour and was just fine with my truck wheels. I use my own bathroom, so I did not check out the bathroom. I was here last night, Thursday June 30th, and when I first arrived there was a small rig parked between some trees that is still there, but other than that when it got dark some tent campers arrived and then left early this morning. Very convenient location right off of 70. I am going to stay again tonight so we'll see if it gets busier on a Friday of a holiday weekend. I did not see any of the trash noted in one of the other reviews, but maybe someone had just picked up. This is a pack out your trash camp, there is no dumpster.

We just tried to locate this campground but the gps coordinates took us down a very lumpy bumpy dirt road that really pushed the limits of our small trailer. We had to turn around. We just headed down the road to the Rabbit flats parking lot.
UPDATE: After unhooking down the road we finally found this campground. Google maps does not take you straight to the entrance with the coordinates. You will need to make one extra right turn. I will post photos of the GPS. After driving thru the campground I would say this campground is best suited for tents, small vans, and truck campers. The road in is quite rough and the spots are fairly tight only one spot looked big enough for our 24ft camper. Recommend a high clearance vehicle for access.

Yes...it is a little rough to get in here. I ended up with a flat tire in the morning...which I changed and now it still holds air indicating that it broke a bead on the drive in.
Weird.
But, the place is very pretty. Free range cows all over the place. There were horses which I think were from the neighbor.
The sign said to camp only in designated spots with a unique sign. But, I never saw a single one of those signs when in the campground??
It is rather odd since there are picnic tables, fire pits and a square to pitch a tent...but it was behind a fence. I was in a bumper-pull so parked on a recess in the road.
I was driving from Vegas to Denver (home) and stopped here for an overnight sleep.
I think the highway exit (I-70) was ONLY for this site. Easy on-off. Less than 2 miles to the campground.
I'd stay here again!

Road is a bit rough but not 4wd. I wouldn't pull a large 5th wheel in here but would camp at nearby Rabbit Valley instead. This is fast on and off from I70 but no road noise. Nice organized campsite with trailers and fire rings. Outhouse is present as well. Beautiful location. If campsite is full there are additional sites nearby. Campsite is easy to find just take exit 2 from I70 and then stay to the right at the first intersection and then continue on main dirt road.

This site was great for tent camping out of our old low clearance sedan. The site had everything needed for tent camping, a flat parking area, concrete table, fire pit, pit toilets and flat gravel area for putting a tent. WARNING: There were signs on the bathroom saying they were considering charging for this campground on a first-come-first-serve bases next year. I would happily pay to stay at one of these sites, but it is something to consider. We camped around a few people mid-week during September, so I imagine the sites get full during peak seasons and weekends. Some campers next to us were chatting loud around their fire until 1 or 2 am, but they were friendly and not obnoxious. People were actually very friendly here and we chatted with a few of our neighbors in the morning, which we had not experienced in our Utah camping spots.

Stopped here for a night on the way to Capitol Reef from Denver, and it was great. We got here around 10 or 11 p.m. and there were still a couple of spots. Nice campsites with tent pads, tables and fire pits. Glad we were only here once the sun went down and only a little into the morning because there is no shade and it's very dry. I have a 2WD car and was able to get here. The dirt road is only about a mile or two off the highway, so it's very doable. Because it is so close to the highway, you can hear some cars driving by through the night, but it's not bad.

We stayed here in early December in a quite chilly night. There were solid tent pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. This was one of our nicest BLM camp sites, and we had the place largely to ourselves.
We were also treated to a beautiful sunset and a wonderful array of stars.

I actually drove through but stayed at nearby rabbit valley because the sites at Joful are quite close together and when I came through on a Saturday all but one or two were taken.
If you enjoy a bit more solitude the sites at Rabbit Valley are far more spread out. However, if you are here during a quiet time Joful is a pretty location up on the bluff and with a few trees.
I sleep in my truck but the road was a bit on the rough side if your riding low or towing something large.
