“small rural family campground”
We are a small rural family campground on the high plains of Colorful Colorado that is open all year. Our roads are gravel and our meadow is buffalo grass and dandelions with some yuccas and a few trees. We are a quiet, simple campground with big sites (RV and tent) and more big sights (Pikes Peak and the Front Range) of Colorado. Falcon Meadow RV Campground is located on US HWY 24 about 15 miles east of downtown Colorado Springs and about a mile west of Falcon Town Center. We have convenient access to all of Eastern Colorado Springs, Black Forest, Falcon and points east. We are about 60 miles west of Limon, Colorado.

Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on April 09, 2022Stayed for two nights. Full service pull through site #13. Rate $45 plus tax. Site was at back of campground furthest from the road so road noise didn’t bother us. Site had a great view of Pikes Peak. We had antelope in the field in front of us. Some full time campers.
I have stayed here on and off for about 5 years. Last stayed there 2 years ago. It is a family operation. They have always taken care of me. They have a very generous dog park and access to a lot of undeveloped land for the pup to explore off leash. You will go through filters, bc there is a lot of iron in the water. But a reasonable rate for the area. I enjoy the easy access to The Springs and being on the edge means much less traffic. Walmart, Home Depot/Lowes, Costco, Safeway and a very long paved pedestrian trail are <5 min away. 2 city dog parks also nearby. I'll be returning march 2023 and looking forward to it.
We spent 6 nights here as we had to be near Colorado Spring for work and the State Park we really wanted to stay in was booked. The park is old. It's been around since 1959. It is laid out rather strangely, but is fairly easy to get around. We had a pull through site (#3) with full hookups and shade. There are LOTS of rabbits that live in this park. The weren't a bother to us, but our dog wasn’t the biggest fan.

Very nice owners and staff. It is an odd use of the land, but the sites are very large and easy to navigate the park. They have a good store for odds/end, but Safeway and Walmart are practically within a 15 min walk. Also in 15 min you can drive to Costco. The park has fuel and propane or take advantage of the free twice weekly propane fill right at your site. There is decent amount of long-term tenants. The fun for your dog cannot be matched. The dog park is insanely large and then you have thousands of acres of undeveloped land to let your dog run off leash right next door. There are at least 5 other undeveloped areas, walking paths or a residential and popular dog park within 15 min from the rv park too. Yup... tons of rabbits that my dog loves to terrorize. The water has a ton of iron. I spend ~$45/mo replacing my inline and onboard water filter to maintain water pressure and I still buy bottled water just to be safe. The residents are very quiet. You'll hear kids in the center/play ground during the summer. You are next to a busy road, but some sites have direct line of site to Pikes Peak. Here are some stats for WIFI (download/upload/ping): tmobile(12/6/69), verizon w/o mimo (18/3/33), verizon w/ mimo (16/2/28), free park wifi (9/8/36).

We had a spot by the park for the kids to play at. Grounds were pretty nice when we were there. The only problem we ran into were the sticker bushes around, but it's the country so we kind of knew what we were getting into. Noise was what you would expect being by the highway.

We have tried to stay at this place twice - last year without reservations, and this year calling ahead a week in advance. Last year we were told we could stay one night but would then have to leave. We opted not to because the place was a dump. It was full of transient residents who had trashed the place.
Although hesitant, we decided to give it another try this year because they're close to friends who we want to visit. Called a week in advance to reserve 3 nights. We were told they only rent for one night. Then you have to leave. I guess that would be ok if you're just passing thru. They obviously don't need business from RVers like us.

We are here in summer and this area is jammed. We could not find availability within a 20 mile radius of Colorado Springs and there are a lot of Campgrounds in the area. So reserve early!!

Every other RV park was full. Tried this one on a chance. Felt safe, but very dusty no grass. A lot of road noise. I would stay again if I could not find anything else.

The good things about this place is that it is the cheapest campground/ RV park in or around Colorado Springs and you can usually get an open spot. The sites are big enough for big rigs (our 5th wheel is 41’ and we have stayed in many of the sites). The water and electric have always worked fine for us the many times we have stayed here. It also has really large fenced in dog space where I play fetch with my dog. However, it is all weeds and I have to pick out stickers when she is done playing. It has plenty of places to grab fast food nearby and there is a Walmart about 5 minutes away. That concludes the good things about this place. We stay here a few days a year because it’s cheap, has hookups and the Internet used to be very good. You could even stream on Netflix it was so good. Good internet is very important to my husband and I because we both work from the road online. When we stay here, it’s usually just to catch up on work before heading out. This year it has been horrible. We stayed a week in August and a week in October and the internet was so bad, we had to go to some friends who live nearby just to get some work done online. Not sure if they changed providers or what. They don’t put any money into this place at all. The dirt roads and sites are pure fine dusty dirt I’m not sure if they have even heard of gravel. Even the “grass” in the middle isn’t really grass but pure weeds. I sleep with ear plugs at night because the highway noise is so loud. Also, if you aren’t familiar with the area, just know that this is located in a tiny town about 20 minutes east of Colorado Springs, so there is nothing close by of interest to tourists. It also is super windy here a lot in the winter especially. If all you need is a place to park, hook up your rig and have water and electricity, and don’t mind staying in a dust bowl, this place will fit the bill. Just don’t expect any internet, grass, beauty, or entertainment. Since the internet is completely unreliable, we will not be returning as it was the main reason we stayed here.

Spent one night here. It's right off the road so lots of traffic and road noise and lights. They packed them in really tight. Dusty dry and dirty. Needs a serious makeover. It does have a decent off leash dog park and the mini market. Sketchy people around, some appear to be there full-time. Would never stay here again. $30 for no electric hookup and a shower that was pretty far away
